Thankfully, we managed to make it back to the villa in one piece, though my mind was swirling with embarrassment when I recollected everything that transpired at the bar with Silas. I cringed inwardly at the thought of how much I had exposed and shared with him while under the influence of alcohol. My carefully constructed walls had crumbled, and I had poured out my emotions without restraint.

"So much for putting up my walls," I mumbled to myself, feeling a mix of regret and vulnerability.

I heard Silas's voice from outside the door. "Hey, are you awake? They got us a hangover soup." He gently called out to me.

I pushed the comforter away from my face, rubbing my temples to soothe the lingering headache from the alcohol. "Yes, I'm awake. I'll be there in a minute!" I replied, my voice groggy with the remnants of sleep.

Rising from the bed, I prepared myself for the new day, hoping to face it with a clearer mind and a bit more grace than the previous night's unguarded moments.

As I entered the dining area, I was greeted by a breakfast dishes prepared by Silas. However, my attention was solely fixated on one thing: the hangover soup. My head was throbbing mercilessly, and I couldn't help but wonder how much I had actually drunk the night before. The details of the previous evening were hazy at best, and I couldn't recall ever being that drunk.

Silas, on the other hand, didn't appear to be faring any better. Despite being dressed for the day, he looked worse off than me as he sipped his coffee. His comment about my condition drew a giggle from me as I took a seat. "Hey, you look more decent compared to me. You were the drunk one last night."

"Don't complain. It's in my genes," I quipped, trying to muster a playful tone despite the pounding headache.

Without hesitation, Silas handed me the much-awaited hangover soup, and I wasted no time in diving into the warm bowl. The soothing broth was a balm to my aching head, and I slurped it down gratefully. "Yeah, that's what I'm talking about," divulging every taste of the soup.

As my senses gradually returned, I couldn't help but notice how well-dressed Silas appeared, considering we were on a vacation. His semi-formal attire made him look almost like a real estate agent, and I couldn't help but raise an eyebrow in curiosity. "Are you going somewhere today?" I inquired, my curiosity piqued.

To my surprise, Silas nodded and clarified, "We are going somewhere today." My eyebrows shot up in surprise at his response. "Both of us? Where?" I questioned, my interest further piqued.

With a calm demeanor, Silas explained, "I set up an appointment with a private investigator to help us with Pier's situation. Last night, it seemed that you were in dire need of help with legalities since you are only aware of New York's laws. He will assist us in finding him."

The weight of his words settled on me, and I realized he was right. In a foreign country, I had no idea where to begin seeking help, unfamiliar with the laws, rules, and regulations of the Philippines. Yet, in that moment, the uncertainty was overshadowed by a glimmer of hope. Silas's efforts to find Pier gave me hope that I would be reunited with him, no matter the obstacles.

Overwhelmed by emotion, I dropped the spoon I was holding and hugged him, my heart swelling with gratitude. "You have no idea how much this means to me, Silas. Thank you. Thank you so much," I expressed, my voice filled with shock and gratitude.

Silas's warm smile reflected the kindness in his heart. "You're welcome, Isla," he replied gently, his eyes conveying a sense of understanding and empathy.

After breakfast, I wasted no time in getting ready for the day ahead. Changing my clothes and gathering my belongings swiftly, I joined Silas at the reception of the resort. To my surprise, there was a car waiting for us. Silas motioned for me to follow him, and as we approached the vehicle, I couldn't help but wonder who would be driving.
