Chapter 38: Skyline

Start from the beginning

"Whoa, that's abuse," I said,

"You deserve it, don't hang up on me," Tayte said,

"And also for not answering our call," I rubbed my head,

"Sorry, I was distracted by someone I saw,"

"Who? Not Galviao?" Noah asked,

"Do you think I'd be so composed if it was?"

"Well you're good at lying to us,"

"Ouch, kick a man when he's down,"

"Who was the mystery person?" Tayte said softly,

"The guy we saw outside of my house,"

"The Ritz guy? Who gave you the envelope?"

"Yeah, him,"

"Who?" Noah asked,

"Just some guy I met who gave me an envelope,"

"Is he dangerous?" I shook my head.

Silence was our company as we headed back to the lounge

"All okay?" Mum asked, Tayte and Noah turned to look at me. Thank you so much for that.

"Keane?" Dad questioned,

"Everything is fine," I answered,

"Then why did Tayte and Noah give you that look to say somethings happened?"

"Ask them that, I don't know, I lost them for a bit," I sat down on the sofa,

"Nothing happened, we just got parted because it was so busy," Tayte said. Mum and Dad didn't say anything, but they knew that there was only some truth in what we were saying. Tayte and Noah joined me on the sofa, I smiled innocently at them both.

"We'll be called for boarding soon," Mum said, trying to change the mood, "This flight is less than 3 hours long"

"That's a bonus then," I said,

"Are we staying in a hotel or?" Noah asked trailing off,

"We're staying 2 nights in a hotel and then our aim is to get out as soon as possible," Dad said,

"Is it going to be dangerous?" Noah asked, Tayte squeezed my hand,

"That's not for you to worry about," Mum said.

Tokyo wasn't going to be anything like Cambodia, far from it.

Tokyo was going to be dangerous.

It was going to be deadly.

One of you will fall

One of you will cry

One of you will be so close to heading up to the sky

Secrets will be spilled

And hearts are going to break

It's going to be so dangerous

How much can you all take?

Were the words I heard sung in my head. My heart began to pound, I took a breath.

"Just heading to the loo before we board the plane," I said, hoping my voice didn't sound shaky as I stood up.

"Good idea," Noah said, also standing up. Tayte was watching me, he could see it in my eyes,

"We'll be back in a minute," he said standing.

One of you will fall

One of you will cry
