"This is it" my bestfriend Jerome said as we drove on the deserted streets of our small town of Harpton, Maine.

"This is the beginning of the end for me. I'm going to get arrested ,there will be an ugly mugshot of me, Harvard will never accept me and my dad will formally disown me all because I listened to you" he added seeming like he'd have an anxiety attack any minute.

"That is if we're arrested" I said parking the car a few blocks down from the Montgomery house "and even if we do I'll take all the blame, I'll take a fabulous mugshot, and my family wouldn't be prouder because I'm keeping up the family tradition of making the Montgomery's suffer"

"I ask each time but you still don't give me a straight answer. How did this Montgomery Rockwell feud start? I mean did someone murder someone that you're so hell bent on making each other's lives hell" he asked while cleaning the fog off his glasses.

"It's a long story but the short version is my great grandfather Lionel Rockwell wanted to buy a piece of land and the great old man Montgomery took it right away from under his nose. After that it was Montgomery liked something Rockwell would snatch it away at a higher price and then Montgomery would do the same the next time. Their sons continued the feud as did their grandsons and here we are now four generations later" I ended my story dramatically "Now hurry give me the bag and wear your waiter uniform chop chop"

"They'll recognise us" whined Jerome

"Jerome no one pays attention to hired help unless they are an eight or above so we'll be ok"  I reassured him while reaching for the large bag in the back.

"You are an eight or above!" Jerome said more in frustration than flattery.

"Aw thanks Juju" I said giving him a slight push on the shoulder "don't worry I've got the perfect disguise" I pulled out a short blond wig and some large rimmed glasses and even did a tada when I put them on.

"Please refrain from calling me Juju even the thought of mother right now is giving me an asthma attack" said Jerome taking out his inhaler and shaking it before hand for good measure. His mom called him Juju and he was the basic definition of a mama's boy always doing as mama said unless of course I intervened. Needless to his mom, Mrs. Peck, wasn't very fond of me.

"Ok it's time. Jerome as my best friend I'm counting on you here" I told him as I was getting out of the car.

"Correction I'm the only best friend that lives on this side of town" Jerome corrected following me as I made my way to the Montgomery mansion.

"Don't say that you know you're my number one" I lied through my teeth. My other friends lived in the suburbs while Jerome and I were the only ones in the group that lived in the posh side of town. If I could, I would choose my friend Angela she's the toughest person I know male or female.

"Ok we're here follow me around back" I whispered to Jerome we went towards the back gate. We were through the gate and making our way towards the buffet area when we heard someone call us from behind.

"Hey! You two" he yelled.

I turned around slowly to only see the eldest Montgomery son Daniel.

"Did you guys get the ice?" Daniel asked pointing to the large garbage bag in my hand.

"Yes" I said meekly "yes sir?!"

"Good take it to the kitchen and there better not be any more mishaps we've got a name to keep here" he added before going back in the direction he came from. I took a sigh of relief thankfully the shadow of the house was cast over us so he didn't get a good look of my face otherwise he would've recognised me instantly. Jerome nervously breathed through his inhaler once I made sure he was ok we went ahead towards the buffet area.
