Or at least, that was his plan at first.

He hadn't counted on being seated next to an anxious brunette. The brunette was pretty for a guy, and if he swung that way, he'd surely be Taehyung's type. Maybe he would've given him a chance, because of the fact that Jin was bi. But within moments of sitting down, he was accused of being an alien, and the stranger made his crash-and-burn comment.

It was going to be a long three hours.

Maybe he could get that eager train attendant to change his seat.

After reaching a comfortable speed, the attendant came back, and Taehyung grabbed her attention, which wasn't hard at all since he already had it.

"Can I help you, Mr. Kim?"

"I need a Jack and a Coke," he said. The man next to him was already driving him crazy, and he needed something to endure his tactics.

"Of course. Anything else?" The attendant flashed a blindingly white smile.

"I want another soju," the man next to him said.

The attendant barely acknowledged him before spinning around to get the orders.

When she returned, she leaned closer than necessary to place the drinks on the trays in front of them. "Would you like me to make it for you?"

"Thanks, but I've got it." Her blinding smile faltered as she walked away, and Taehyung felt a little guilty. But there was no sense in leading her on. He was a man on a mission, and his mission currently lacked any sort of plan.

Taehyung was fixing his own drink when out of nowhere, the guy next to him asked, "Do you get along with your mother?"

He turned to him. "My mother?"

"Yeah, y'know— the woman who raised you?"

Taehyung gave him his full attention, still confused. The guy looked more relaxed now, probably due to the drinks he'd downed. "Maybe I was raised by two fathers," he said, keeping a straight face.

His eyes widened. "Oh. Were you?"

"No." Though sometimes his brother acted like another mother. He couldn't hide his smirk.

The guy watched him for a second, and Taehyung studied him while he waited. His almond-colored eyes weren't entirely focused. Maybe he had too many drinks? But then again, it was only two glasses of soju.

"So do you?" His eyebrows lifted in an exaggerated arch.

"Yeah," Taehyung grinned. "I love my mother. And the rest of my family."

He lifted his glass, the liquid inside sloshing. "Now those are different. Loving your mother and getting along with her are two very different things." He waved the glass to emphasize his point.

"I guess you're right," Taehyung said. "My mother and I get pretty well. Much better than my brother and I."

"You're really lucky." The man sipped his drink and turned to stare out the window. When he remained silent, Taehyung judged the conversation was over and turned back to face the seat in front of him.

He took a sip of his own drink and closed his eyes. He hadn't slept well the past couple nights, and now that he was actually doing it, he realized Jin was right. The whole trip was insane. He hadn't even made hotel or car reservations for his time in Busan.

What the hell was he doing? It wasn't like he could just randomly show up at the Jeon wedding.

The train attendant came back, asking once again if Taehyung needed anything. He opened his eyes irritated at the disturbance. Wasn't there a rule for attendants to leave sleeping—or possibly sleeping-- passengers alone?
