A light shaking sensation woke me up, a fuzzy sound that faintly sounded like someone calling my name penetrating the film of sleep that surrounded my mind. Groaning I raised my hands trying to swat away whatever or whoever it was that was interrupting my sleep. When my arms found nothing I sighed contently reaching for my warm duvet so I could snuggle back down. Reaching down I felt nothing except the material of my pyjama bottoms, finally registering the cool breeze that was fanning my feet instead of the warmth of my duvet. Sitting bolt upright in my bed, I rubbed my eyes confusion surrounding me. I scanned the room in search of my duvet until I found it being held up by a tall, grinning, light mocha brown haired idiot also known as my brother.

"Gabe!" I exclaimed bolting of the bed and attacking my brother with a big hug "Oh my god, I missed you!"

"Hey baby sis" He grinned hugging me back and ruffling my already mad hair. The sight of Gabe automatically made me happy, I could feel myself opening up more and he'd only been back for 2 minutes. Despite the fact that Gabe spent most of his time playfully teasing and bullying me he was my favourite person in the world. We'd always been close; the small two and a half year gap between us meaning we'd always spent a lot of time together. Growing up Gabe and I had always been mistaken for twins. We had the same light honey blonde hair and straight slight ski-slope nose courtesy of my mother's Swedish heritage. We both had my father's Italian olive skin tone and full lips, our only difference being our eyes. Gabe had my Mom's electric blue eyes, and I had my Dad's light chocolate brown ones, a little bit of my Mom in them as a light blue bled out from around my pupils. But now we couldn't look more different; our faces were still extremely except Gabe's features were much more masculine with a strong jaw. His light blond hair had darkened to a light caramel brown colour with a mixture of dark brown, whereas mine had stayed the same. I smiled up at my brother who towered over me an almost identical smile to mine on his face.

"You're back" I beamed.

"Yup" Gabe smiled yawing slightly.

"What time did you get back?"

"Like 1-ish" He responded "I wanted to wake you up but Mom said you'd had training so I thought I'd let you sleep"

"So if you could wait to wake me up then why did you have to wake me up now" I pouted "I don't have to be up for another 15 minutes"

"Oh build a bridge Issy" Gabe said rolling his eyes.

"Rude" I gasped shoving him even though I knew he wouldn't budge one bit.

"Yea yea"

"So how's college big bro" I asked grabbing my dressing gown off my bedpost.

"Educational" Gabe said with an innocent look on his face.

"Yea right" I chuckled "I reckon you're doing 10% studying, 40% hockey and 50% partying?"

"Hey, don't hate the player hate the game" Gabe smirked making me roll my eyes.

"Speaking of parties when we’re planning on telling me about tomorrow?" I asked raising an eyebrow.

"Err"

"Do you know how many people have come up to me like Can't wait for Saturday Issy or Hey Issy, I was wondering if I could come on Saturday, cool Issy you're the best" I said mimicking some of the boys and girls from school "And I look like an idiot because I have no idea what they're on about!"

"Oh chill Issy it'll be fine"

"No it won't, you know I hate parties. Why would I want to surround myself with drunken people who I don't know?"
