Dr. Hopkins found himself interrupted mid-task by Clarissa, his ever-reliable nurse assistant. Her voice carried the weight of a message that demanded his immediate attention. "Dr. Hopkins, you have a patient in room 3," she informed him, her tone laced with urgency.

Acknowledging Clarissa with a nod of gratitude, Dr. Hopkins swiftly slipped into his crisp white coat, the symbol of his profession. With practiced ease, he gathered the necessary medical folder from the reception desk, a prelude to his encounter with the patient awaiting him in room three.

As he made his way down the corridor, Dr. Hopkins couldn't help but steal a glance at the contents of the folder. A quick perusal provided him with a glimpse into the medical history of the individual he was about to meet.

Upon entering the room, Dr. Hopkins was met with the gaze of a man whose eyes burned with an intensity that immediately caught his attention. "Good afternoon, my name's Dr. Hopkins," he introduced himself, his voice calm and reassuring, "your lab results are finally in."

The patient, a striking figure with bright green eyes, seemed momentarily taken aback. "Where's Doctor Cuddy?" he inquired, a hint of alarm coloring his words.

"She's been called away for a work conference," Dr. Hopkins explained calmly, taking a seat opposite the man, "but I'm here to assist you today."

Despite his initial apprehension, the patient seemed to relent. "Uh... No, I just felt a bit more comfortable talking to her... But I guess you will do," he conceded, his eyes drifting to Dr. Hopkins' name badge.

As the conversation unfolded, Dr. Hopkins couldn't help but notice the physical presence of the man before him. Tall, with tanned skin and tousled brown hair, he exuded a sense of vitality and strength.

"I am the Dean of Medicine," Dr. Hopkins offered, hoping to instill a sense of confidence in his patient.

The exchange continued, with the patient expressing his concerns and Dr. Hopkins providing reassurance and guidance. Eventually, the moment of truth arrived as the patient awaited the results of his HIV test.

"Stephen, your results all came back negative," Dr. Hopkins announced, relief washing over the man's features as he absorbed the news.

As the consultation drew to a close, Stephen revealed the underlying reason for his visit, sharing a personal struggle with recent events in his life. Moved by his story, Dr. Hopkins offered words of support and encouragement.

As Stephen prepared to leave, a sudden question caught Dr. Hopkins off guard. "Have you ever cheated on your girlfriend?" Stephen inquired, his tone unexpectedly probing.

Dr. Hopkins hesitated briefly before revealing a piece of his own truth. "My husband died of cancer a few years ago," he confessed, his voice tinged with emotion.

The revelation seemed to strike a chord with Stephen, who offered a simple gesture of empathy. "I'm sorry to hear that," he responded, his demeanor softened by the exchange.

Before departing, Stephen turned to Dr. Hopkins, his gaze lingering for a moment longer than necessary. "You're cute, Anthony," he remarked casually, leaving Dr. Hopkins momentarily flustered.

As Stephen exited the room, Dr. Hopkins found himself grappling with a mixture of emotions. The encounter had left an indelible impression, lingering in the air long after Stephen had departed. And as Dr. Hopkins paused to collect himself, he couldn't help but notice the faint scent of pine and mint that seemed to linger in the room.
