Justin

The past two weeks have been rough but amazing to say the least. It's a challenge having two kids but I honestly wouldn't trade this life for anything. There have been more sleepless nights than I ever imagined but it's worth it. My kids have changed my life in so many ways, I don't know where I'd be had I not been blessed with them.

I grabbed my keys off the table in the hall and made my way down the steps. I was supposed to go to the store to buy diapers over an hour ago but I got distracted. As I was walking past the living room I noticed Josiah laying on the couch asleep. Zahara was sitting on the floor with her head against the couch cushion. She looked up briefly before she went back to typing on her phone, her friend Sammie had her baby last week. They text about the babies and how their bodies have changed every day. I guess it's nice having someone to relate to during this time.

"I'm going to get the diapers, do you want anything else?"

"Nasir already got the diapers"

"What?"

"You were taking too long, he called and asked if I needed anything. I said diapers, he dropped them off an hour ago"

"Really? You couldn't wait?"

She looked at me as if I lost my mind, I mean I appreciate the fact that he brought the diapers but I could have done it. It's not like he didn't have any left, he had enough that would last until tomorrow. I was gonna go, I just took a little longer than I should have.

She shrugged and brushed Josiah's hair down with her hand before giving him a kiss on the cheek. He smiled and Zahara got so excited, this is the very first time he has smiled in his sleep. Most of the time he mean mugs everyone but lately he has been smiling a lot. You have to catch him at the right time because you'll miss it if not

I dropped my keys on the table and sat down on the other couch so Josiah doesn't wake up. I'm sure he just went to sleep and I don't wanna hear about how I woke up him. Zahara sat her phone on the coffee table and just looked at me, this could be good or bad..

"Have you spoken to your mom lately?"

I shook my head no, I haven't talked to my mom in at least a week. She did text back after I told her the baby was born, she congratulated me and that was it. I still love my mom but I refuse to fight with her and my sister.

"The last time we spoke she asked for a picture of Josiah, I sent one and she indirectly asked if he was mine. I'm not arguing about the paternity of my kids anymore"

"Well.. I received a text from her and we talked for a little while. I sent her a picture of Josiah and Zari'ana and she seemed really happy"
