Alphonso is one of the main characters. He is the leader of a mafia that's territory spans most of the US and a small part of Italy. He is the father of Willow Emiliano (deceased) and the husband of Linda Emiliano (deceased). He is also the biological father of Chloe Emiliano.

I'm sure some of you have seen this pic before. Isn't she adorable.
Chloe is the main character. Though she isn't the narrator all of the book, she is the main character. She is Alphonso's second biological daughter that was given away at birth when her mother (Linda) gave birth while in the clutches of Alphonso's biggest rival. Alphonso never knew she existed until her fourth birthday when his doctor informs him that Chloe is in fact his flesh and blood.

Clara Tavner

Clara is another main character. She soon becomes Alphonso's love interest and a mother figure to Chloe. Clara started working for Alphonso after doing everything she could to make her family ok with anything she did. When they failed to accept anything she did, she left and found a new family with the Mafia. Clara is a house maid but she specializes in mathematics, literature, and history.

Linda is Alphonso's late wife. She died during the time that she was taken from Alphonso by one of his rivals named Antonio.
