The following day, things were going okay. They were slow, but relatively okay. Then the phone rang in the middle of English class, and everything went downhill.

"Hemmings," Luke answered, putting the phone to his ear and looking to his silent class. His eyes moved to Ashton.

Ashton frowned, knowing that was never good.

When the call ended, Luke headed back to his position near his podium and cleared his throat. He didn't seem surprised at all with the news.

"Ashton, they need you in the guidance office."

Mr. Hemmings never did get a note that day.
