CHAPTER 1

That night I walked in the rains.
The sky was dark and grey
And as every drop of rain fell,
I looked up to the full moon.
Every drop that fell onto my face
Was cold as ice.

Then when I looked straight
And continued to walk,
I could not believe what
I saw. It was her, she was walking
towards me as I froze standing in the rain.

When I saw her approaching me
I thought and Said to myself,
She had to be mine.
Her eyes so bright ,
She smelled sweet as wine.

And finally It all came back to me.
I had her in my heart,
For the first time I was truly glad,
From her I never wanted to part,
I knew being with her never made me sad.
But then, it happened . . .
The sky fell darker, I could hear
The seas overflowed,
Away went her beautiful smell,
And my heart soon slowed.
If me and her were meant to be I don't know . . .
For the feelings are still there,
And when I see her, my heart will still drop.
If she left my life I could not bear,
I know my love for her will never die. It's been a thousand years
since you were taken from me, now I am awake again and In all that time I can still remember.

" The sparkle in her eyes,
The warmth of her skin.
Her breath on my neck,
That quivers within.
The touch of her hand,
The smell of her hair.
The kindness in her smile,
That strength in her stare.,

Her kiss on my lips,
Her body near mine.
The stroke of her touch,
That feeling inside.
The sound of her voice,
Compassion in her embrace.
The serenity in her stride,
The beauty on her face.

The calming of her presence,
The beating of her heart.
The promise of tomorrow,
That we may never part.
The beauty of her kiss,
and that magic in her touch.
It is for all these reasons and more,
Why after a thousand years I still
Burn with love."

"Excuse me,"she said. "Excuse me sir?" she kept calling me as I was lost in a flashback, as the rains got heavy.
She held my hand gently and called again,"Excuse me sir, are you okay?" I suddenly came back to the moment and I looked at her.

"My apologies" I said.

"You're getting soaked, why don't you come under the umbrella." she said, throwing a gaze at me with a smile.

"Thank you," I said, gazing into her eyes.

"So are you going somewhere or maybe you are just one of those people who like to get themselves wet?" she asked.

"Actually I was only taking a walk, I haven't done that in a long
time," I replied gently.

"Really?" she stared at me, a confused expression playing on her face." Why of all days do you choose to take your walk on a rainy day?" she asked, looking surprised.

I looked at her and as we stood talking, I smiled at her. "I guess am one of those people who likes to get wet," I replied.

Suddenly the sky started to turn black and I could see her skin becoming cold.

"Well, I like to take walks in the rain too, specifically this time of the
year, but I always use an umbrella, " she said, lecturing me.

"On the nineteenth of this month? Why?" I asked, paying close attention to her response.

"I don't really know, but something about today feels special, maybe it's because of a story I like that happened in this town a life time ago,"she said."People say it's a myth but I like to believe it happened," she continued. "Just some ghost story people like to tell."

"What happened, what's the story about?" I asked. "

"Well, it's about a lady who was murdered because she was said to have fallen in love with a man who wasn't actually a man, but something totally different. The man was hunted down for loving a mortal. But people didn't see that, they just saw an evil being, wearing a man's skin so they murdered her and the man was burned alive. It's just some ghost story," she said.

Then I looked into her eyes, "What would you have done if you were that lady?" I asked.

As she kept on holding her umbrella she looked up, straight into my eyes, "We don't choose who we fall in love with," she said softly.

I heard her breathing softly. I could feel the chilled air on her
lips, the warmth of her skin, her heart beating gently as we kept that long lingering look, I went on and spoke.

"A candle within me
A small flame burning,
Fueled by your eyes,
your laughter,
your astonishing smile.
A yearning within me
An aching longing,
Deepened by your joy,
your charm,
your ephemeral grace.

A love within me
A passion everlasting,
You dance among the stars,
and in my fevered heart.
I will wait for you in this life or the next,
come back to me."

Shocked at what she just heard, she looked at me deeply.
"That's my favorite poem," she said.

"Those were the words the lady was told as she watched her lover burn. I know that story very well too," I said to her.

She then smiled and pulled out her hand.

"I'm Annabel...Annabel Clark, but you can call me Bel," she said.

I held her hand gently, bent and kissed it.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Bel, my name is Michael Gray."

And in that moment Michael saw a beginning of a new start in Rockwood.

Now the sky went black, the wind blow strongly as Bel and Michael walked away as the sky dropped heavy rains.

A strange man stood in the middle of the road, eyes as red as the setting sun at the end of a day, with long black hair that was damp, wearing a black long leather coat, stared as Bel and Michael walked further away from him.

"Soon we will meet, Michael," he said slowly and softly to himself.
"It begins again."
