"Don't play dumb with me, Mahone!" said Lauren taking a step forward. "We know exactly what brought me here. How come there's water INSIDE the generator room where high voltage of electricity based in? Didn't you check your work?"
"We sure did," said Austin still sitting on his chair. A smile appeared on the man's face that Lauren could tell it was not as innocent as it looked. "It's the weather, Jauregui. It was raining these past few days, you know, we probably have holes on the roof. But don't worry we're fixing it."
Lauren clenched her jaw. She was beyond annoyed with this man in front of her for his lack of sense responsibility, talking about this situation like it wasn't a big deal for him. But for Lauren, for Cabregui Energies, this was a big problem. Her workers couldn't proceed the installation in the main building because they had to shut the power totally until the situation in the generator room being handled. And that would be a waste of time because they had a deadline to fulfill.
"You better do, Mahone. Or this won't look good on your company's reputation." Said Lauren with low tone before she, along with Dinah left the office.
—
"Lo, you need to calm down," said Dinah as she looked at how worked up her friend right now.
They were on their way back from the site after they made sure the process of the unexpected water situation being handled properly by Austin's men. And it took a while to vacuum all of it that made them leave around 6 pm. This time, it was Dinah who was behind the steering wheel after deciding it was better for Lauren to rest on the way home (aside from the fact that it was dangerous to let Lauren to drive in a state of raging mad).
"How can I, Dinah? You've seen it yourself. We won't be able to finish on time because of this. Because of that guy couldn't even do his job right. Holes on the roof, my ass," scoffed Lauren at his lame excuse. "There are no holes. We had seen the room's construction along with the ground cable placing months prior and there has never been water in there even on stormy days. So why now?"
Lauren stayed silent the whole way. Only glancing outside of the window as she kept thinking about how much of an incompetent Austin Mahone at doing his work. Above all, she kept thinking about a few times this kind of incident had happened in span of several months. Something wasn't right. Sure problems could easily occurred on site but never had she ever had this kind of incidents happened at the same site in matter of months. She needed to find out how.
"Lo!" Dinah said, waving her hand in front of Lauren's face. Snapping her out of her trance.
Lauren looked out front to see they already parked in front of Dinah's apartment building. She turned to look at her best friend that was already staring at her. Her eyebrows were raised and she was about to ask, Dinah beat her to it.
"Have you made your move on Camila?" asked the Polynesian woman. Changing the subject from work related.
Lauren furrowed her eyebrows. "Why would I?"
Dinah rolled her eyes at her friend. She had been telling her to make a move on the woman. Lauren came to Dinah's apartment after leaving Camila's place because how restless she felt over a week ago and told her about their late night snacking in Camila's place and about what she felt towards the brunette.
"Why not? Countered Dinah.
"Don't think I didn't notice you were daydreaming about her from time to time this past week. Oh yeah, I saw. You're not very slick, Ralph." Smirked Dinah. "You had that same expression on your face each time-the same look as when you told me about her that night. Honestly, what are you waiting for? Are you waiting for someone else to make a move on her first?"
