Most people get obsessed over celebrities and video games,
Over books and movies, riches and fame
Teens fangirl for eternity over that one fictional guy,
All that drama over nothing, the tears and the lies
It's normal to obsess over cars and mythical creatures,
A popstar or cupcakes, even a pretty teacher
But the deepest obsession is the darkest, it's true,
It shadows all the light radiated from you
Because you move from one to another, obsessing till the end,
And when you're done, choose the next in the long list of fake friends
What you have is a powerful obsession,
One most would state as a contradiction
Every word they utter, every step they take,
You'll cheer till the end, till they realize it's all fake
You'll take us to the top of the mountain, to the end of the road to success,
But slowly your obsession clings to yet another, and we're left to clean after your mess.
