Today is the first day of my first year at Arthur Woods High. I take a look at my
schedule. I actually like my schedule because all my electives are in one day (what a
coincidence).
1st- Geometry
2nd- Web Design
3rd- Language Arts
4th- Dance (YES!)
5th- World History
6th- Journalism
7th- Physical Science
8th- Woodshop
In my school we have even and odd days so I love that my electives are all on one day.
The day went by pretty quickly. I have periods 2,3,4,6 with Maddy and I have periods 1
and 5 with James. So I'm alright, at least I know some people. My day was going great
until I got to 8th period. The universe loves me so much that out of all people, I just
had to be in the same class as Mace. And it was the teacher’s idea to pick FRICKING
partners! So I got partnered up with Mace and he was making kissy faces at me all
period. GOD HE'S SUCH AN ASS!
‘May I ask why you like the duche next to you?’ The voice in my head says.
‘He's never been such an ass to me. Why is he doing this? Is it because we are at
school.’ I reply.
‘No dumb-ass it's because he's an egotistic ass-hole that I warned you about.’
'STOP!' I scream at that little voice in my head.
"Stop what babe?" He questioned me winking.
"Miss. Wills I will not tolerate outbursts in my class. This is your first and last warning!"
the teacher scolded me.
"My apologies, Mr. Bruners." I responded with a smile.

Once I got home I called Maddy and asked if I could go over but instantly regretted it.
‘Are you FUCKING retarded why would you ask to go over knowing that he is there.’
‘Stupid little voice. I wanna go over to do 'homework' with Maddy.’
‘More like daydream in the kitchen.’
‘Shut it. So what it I do wanna go see him. What are you gonna do about it?’
So I got changed into a pair of shorts and my favorite music shirt.

I walked into Maddy’s house to find Mase, Jake, and Nate (aka 'the three'). They are the
most respected boys in school. I was just sitting next to Mace in woodshop and the few
girls there were eying me with jealousy and the guys were in awe, because they knew
we knew each other.
"Earth to Lace, you here girl." I guess I was spacing out again. "Lace are you going to
tell me what the hell happened yesterday?" I don't respond to her question arguing with
myself whether I should tell her how I feel about Mace.
"Ummm... I have to go get water." I said plainly. As I walked out of Maddy's room, I
looked at myself in the mirror. I walked down the stairs to find the boys tossing a soccer
ball and turning on the Xbox 360 in the living room. I walked into the kitchen, filled my
glass cup with water and turned around to find a tall body towering over me. It was
Mason (BTW did I mention he's 6'3?)
