If You See Me

If you see me walking in the hallway,
With a pained frown across my soft face,
And long arms wrapped around my stomach,
It's because I'm hoping that by pulling my sides closer together,
I'll be able to push out the air filling the emptiness you've left inside of me,
When you stole my heart,
And broke it into three,
I'm hoping the crushing of my waist will close the voids inside of me.
If you see me walking in the hallway,
When I sigh quietly in agony as the air leaves its vacancy,
Do not turn to the sound,
My voice does not welcome you anymore.
If you see me walking in the hallway,
After this day,
Please do not let your eyes stray from the destination in front of you,
Please do not follow my way,
I do not want to be that girl, again, that you can't love during the day.

If you see me walking in the hallway,
With a joyful smile painted across my face,
And long arms swinging by my side,
It's because I've finally found my happiness again.
It's because I've filled the space in my chest with people who actually love me.
When my laugh roars like beautiful drums in a symphony of thunder,
Do not turn to the sound,
My voice does not welcome you anymore.
If you see me walking in the hallway,
After this day,
Please do not let your head stray from the path ahead of you,
Please do not look my way,
I do not want another one of your undeniable heartbreaks.
