After Newt's visit to New York he boarded a ship to return him home. If he could even consider it home.

The ride from New York back to England was unfathomably long, dull and most of all lonely. Newt stood along the port side of the vessel, watching the horizon. After many years Newt had not thought of needing female companionship. And yet after leaving Tina Goldstein, he longed for it ever more.

Upon arrival at the English docks Newt gathered his things and proceeded to leave the ship. The crowds o people moving to an fro much like the water had during his trip.

Oblivious to his case as he pushed through the crowds, Newt's niffler managed to crawl and scratch his was out of the case. The small black mole crossed with a platypus looking creature scurried through the crowd.
In the opposite direction of Newt, almost back onto the ship.

Newt proceeded on his way for some time until he saw a small black blur weave through the many feet of the passengers. It was his niffler. The escape artist of the century, next to Grindelwald. Forcing his way through the many body's he followed the creature.

Many ships had pulled into the docks today, on them were hundreds of muggles, with a small few magic folk mixed in. That was how it was. Always a minority, hiding and pretending. As a witch you knew your way around muggles, you just had to in this day and age. After the war the laws put in place were far more strict. Yet you still slightly feared muggle kind. Coming from a pureblood family you were never really brought up to be fond of them.

Moving against the new flood of people coming off of the docked vessels, you spotted something unusual.

Your younger sister's hand, firmly grasped in yours as you forced your way through the crowd of muggles.

Poppy was 12 in a few days, and as such you had promised her a gift. Along with a visit to a magical creature breeder. Poppy had her heart set on getting a phoenix, because she very much liked the one the head master of Hogwarts has. As the Ravenclaw Poppy was she always needed something to do and learn, and you felt it was a worthy cause.

As you were well educated during your time at Hogwarts you decided that it could not do much harm in getting one. After all a phoenix sounded like quite the extraordinary pet, as to a lack of a better word.

Something moved about in the crowd ahead of you. A small black furred creature, swinging from muggle to muggle with whatever shinny things it could find in toe. Even from a distance is wasn't hard to tell this, it was a brighter than usual day, and the sun glinted off the valuables.

"Poppy, listen to me and go to that cafe. Wait for me. I'll only be a moment Poppy. Just stay put."

"But sis?"

Letting go of Poppy's hand you forced your way into the crowd. Reaching into your coat you grasp your wand. Pulling it out, as you neared the creature.

Only another moment and you would be able to apparate to catch the creature. As a member of the Ministry for magic and a member of the department for control and regulations of magical creatures you couldn't have a niffler on the loose.

A earth shattering force hit you, and you tumbled to the ground. Your shoulder making a sickening sound as it hit the cobbles.

"I'm so sorry!" The voice of a young man said as he reached down and grabbed your hand to pull you up. After taking his hand he pulled you up. His calused yet warm hand taking your's. Standing far too close to the man. His warm breath fanning over your face. It was late winter, early spring, the biting cold air chilling your bones and your heart.

"You had better be!" You spat.

Un-handing the man you marched over the small creature who was now trying to swipe the time piece out of the coat of an elderly man seated at a bench nearby.

"I'm Newton Scamander. Well Newt if you'd like." The man you had just met said, as he trailed along beside you like a lost dog.

"I'm not interested in muggles." You muttered to yourself, as your eyes never left your thieving prey.

"I am not. Actually. And it does seem to be the same case for you as well by the looks of that wand." This man, Newt, said.

With a slight startle you hid your wand. How careless of you. What if the Ministry found out? You would surely lose your job if you became careless of these things.

The man to your hip, clad in a blue coat with shortish messy red blond hair that moved over one of his eyes as he walked beside you. To his side was a brown leather case with frayed and broken twine trying to hold it closed. Quite particular. He looked familiar.

"There he is!" Newt exclaimed, as he rushed ahead of you towards the niffler.

"Mr Scamander?" You called after him as you rushed to keep up.

Soon he was engulfed by the crowd. Only the end of his scarf flashed in your minds eye before he disappeared. A Hufflepuff scarf at that, one that was warn and faded but loved. Seeing this you clutched your own scarf, that of Ravenclaw, like your sister that wrapped around your neck.

(not to say any other house isn't great, but just for this story)

Newt Scamander? You would need to keep an eye out for him. If he was anything like that he was described, in his file, that had found itself a place on your desk nearly a fortnight ago. You had know the man before you had gained access to his file, a fellow Hogwarts student. Knowing your luck you would be seeing him again, and soon.

Please remember to vote if you liked it and thanks for reading! Comment your Hogwarts house too! I'm proud a Ravenclaw!
