The Red Cube: execution

12. Same Time

The seven remaining people remains motionless now that they know what happens after you win. They all thought they would live regular lives if they won.

"William. You played this before. What happened to the winner of your season?" Roy asks.

"There was two young winners. I don't know much about them since I only spoke to them twice. I do know that they work with Swift now. Not sure if they are hosts now, but I do know that they wear the uniforms."

"I guess I can live with that." Winter says still in her seat.

The walls changes from Swift's victory to another face that hits Elisabeth hard.
"That's my mom!" She's shook from her mother's younger face.

A girl in her early twenties with gorgeous mocha skin and long micro braids that goes to her hip. She shares her body type with Elisabeth. In her pictures she's always under the wing of a male until they were cut. She used her womanly powers to use men to get her further in the game. She made it all the way to the final four with four women and became a co winner with a woman named Jacque Cole. She sat on the block twice and received zero votes both times. Elisabeth recognized that this is the secret to her mother's government powers. She clearly hasn't told Elisabeth this by how surprised she was by her face. Elisabeth stunts to the tube while the name Ellen Nickerson #101 rotates around the room. She reaches as deep as she can to reach her mother's status to see the first blue cube.

Pharaoh looks concerned at Elisabeth while he is now arm deep inside the tube.

"Mom." She mouths to him.

He nods his head and pulls out the remarkable. His first red cube. He takes a seat in the seat next to Winter. She hugs him like he did to her after she lost Hazel. "I'm with you." She whispers mid hug. Pharaoh smiles.

Five cubes left and only one red cube is left.

The twins both frowns at the sight of Winter comforting Pharaoh who is a known traitor to them. Nathan and Roy walk together to the podium. Nathan's nerve are shot, but Roy is still calm. Roy pulls out a cube and closes it in his palm, the Nathan follows behind. They hold out their palms with a cube locked inside. Nathan opens first. Blue. He silent chants and jump up and down then quickly waits for Roy's fate. He clinched harder hoping he doesn't have to sit in the chair in his first time next to one of his best allies. He opens his hand to see what he thought was impossible. Another blue cube.

Two blue cubes and one red cube is left.

William is still behind and will not pull for a cube. The rest understands so Jenna and Winter pull together. Winter lifts her and turns red in the face. While Jenna holds the cube in between both of her hands, Winter reaches inside to grab hers.

"Same time?" Winter calmly and happily says to the twelve year old.

"Same time." She copies.

Both girls opens their hand and all are shocked that one of them has the red cube. William's plan to not pull a cube is working greatly for him, but is saddened to see Jenna with another red cube. She sits in Winter old seat on the right of the depressed Pharaoh.

"We still have the numbers." Nathan and Roy both votes quickly for what seems to be obvious, but no one will ever know for sure. Three more votes to go.

"No need to talk. We know it's hard to do." Elisabeth says to the two as she votes.

Winter stands at the lone podium facing the two blank faces. She lets out tears but keeps a strong face.

"Some things just has to be done for my game and my game only. Promises has to be kept to keep going in this game." Winter untangles the braids Hazel put in her hair so she can get her head in the game. "Doing this for Hazel." She sniffles.

One vote left. The invisible boy William. He hid so well that no one has ever targeted him and he has never pulls a red cube. His last game was the complete opposite with him pulling the first red cube and being the first one out because of his criminal history. Now that no one knows this he will be safe for as long as possible. He looks at Elisabeth to see her nodding her head in agreement. William nods knowing what has to be done.

He votes and the walls behind the two people shows the numbers 3-2. Either Jenna or Pharaoh will be leaving them and it's all up to one vote. The people fighting for their lives holds hands and face away from each other. The five voters also turns away to not see what will happen next.

The wristband of Jenna starts to beep fiercely. The nano chips glow all around her body and swap to to shape of her lung on her chest. She cries and looks for Pharaoh for safety but he's turned around. The nano chip digs deep on her lung until she can't breathe anymore. A soft breathe leaves her body and she struggles to breath it back in. She claws at her neck and jolts her hand from Pharaoh's grip to claw a breath in. Quietly struggling to breathe until she loses the battle of life. Her small frail body gives and and her body and a podium drops into the ground.
