swimming with the fishes

i got two goldfish. I don't really like fish, but i like spontaneous purchases. I named them Eliza and alexander so their legacy will continue to live on. I would hate  to be a fish though. Being in a tank your whole life swimming in circles, that's no way to live. I wanted to let them go after a few days, but the water is far too cold for them to survive in the outside world, so they get to stay with your favorite mess.
