My friend missed school
The other day
So I went to surprise her
And when I walked, through the door
Tear tracks lined her face
I asked what was wrong
She closed up
Like a turtle hiding in it's shell
Her blue eyes were empty
The emotions sparse aside from
Her pain, her inner turmoil
She rubbed her wrist
The scabs fresh and new
Lined her arms, strokes
Like a painting
Creating her own
Artwork, laced with a
Dark red trim
"I'm sorry," she whimpered
Before turning around
The silver barrel of
The gun resting against her
Pulsing temple
Her finger trembling on the trigger
I ran to stop her
Too late as the bang
Resounded throughout the house
Her body slumped to the floor
The red blossoming around her head
That was all I saw before I cried out
Succumbing to the darkness.
