Chloe's POV
So we went out to the car and Ryan drove us into the nearest town, it was pretty abandoned
We got there about ten minutes later and he took the keys out of the ignition, we both got out but I stayed by the car
"I'm gonna stay here" I told him and he nodded in agreement
"You sure that's a good idea?" He asked me and I rolled my eyes
"I'll be fine ry" I told him with a smirk
"Okay, I'll be as quick as I can"
Just as he finished speaking it happened
The ground started shaking
It was an earthquake, right in between us
"Ry!" I screamed as it started happening, the ground was shaking, then it started splitting
"Chloe!" He yelled to me
"Ry what do we do?!" I called out to him
I was about to start having a panic attack when suddenly the ground stopped shaking and everything was as it had been before
"I'll be back in a minute" Ryan yelled and ran off leaving me all alone in a ghost town
I had a sick feeling but it wasn't morning sickness it was something else
It was the realisation of what this world had become
One day it was just a normal day like any other and the next my world was turned upside down
They wanted my baby and I had no idea why, they had destroyed everything
Even if we did survive this, putting this world back together may be beyond our power kept running through my head
I know it's bad but for a second I did genuinely think it would be better if there just was no baby anymore, I know that is a really awful thing to have thought but there was so much pain and suffering, so much death, all because they wanted my child, but I still couldn't figure out why my child could save them
To this day I don't understand how the child that was inside of me then was going to help them survive and I probably never will but it stopped mattering soon after, everything did
