Chloe's POV

I just kept crying until I couldn't anymore, then eventually I fell asleep

The next morning I woke up alone, for a moment I had no memory of the night before...but then I did

"RYAN?!" I cried out and then I heard footsteps

I fumbled for the gun Ryan had given me and then went to point it at the figure but when I finally got it up I saw who it was and immediately put it back down

"Ryan?" I asked in confusion

"It's okay baby, I'm okay" he tells me

But that makes me suspicious

How was he okay?

"How? You were sick" I question as I clutch my gun behind my back

"It wasn't what you thought it was" someone walked out from behind the car and I literally pounced on them,I couldn't believe my eyes

"ALLY?!" I cried out as I jumped on her

"He hadn't had his insulin injection the moron" she told me

"How did you find us?!" I ask shocked as I let her go

"Luck I guess" she responds

Alison was Ryan's sister

"The third wave struck last night while no one was expecting it" Ryan told me gently

"What was it?" I asked curiously

"I was right about getting in land, they used the oceans to sink towns and cities by the sea" he told me and I nodded

"Baby it hit where Claire and your mom live, hard, no one survived" he explained sadly

My breath caught in my chest and my heart missed a beat

"T...they're dead?" I ask quietly and he nodded slowly

My breathing went all shaky and tears started falling from my eyes, he pulled me into him tightly as I cried

My family was gone, I was the only one left

I had Ry and Alison but it wasn't the same

"I'm so sorry chlo" he soothed but it didn't help

"WHAT DO THEY WANT FROM US?!" I screamed

"I don't know sweetie, I really don't"
