~Marley's POV~
Anger fills me as I watch Arabella sobbing, heartbroken. What is wrong with him? How could Adrian send Arabella home? He is head over heels in love with her, and he's sending her home because of something that she hasn't told anyone. I sit in shock as I stare out my window, watching Arabella get in a car and leave. I storm out of my room and up the stairs to Adrian's room. I need to knock some sense into this boy. I knock on his door and wait angrily for him to answer. The door opens and I see Adrian, glaring. Once he sees me, his glare drops and he looks surprised.
"Oh, Marley, I thought you were...someone else." I glare harshly at him.
"You thought I was Arabella. What is wrong with you?! Do you have brain damage or something?! How could you send her home!" His eyes narrow.
"She sent you to talk to me, didn't she?" I clench my jaw.
"No, she didn't. She didn't even want to say your name, she could barely say your name with how much she was crying. You don't know how it is, to see your best friend breaking, literally, and you can't do anything about it. That's how it was to see Arabella, sobbing, heartbroken. You really broke her heart, you know."
"What else was I supposed to do?! She lied to me! How can I trust someone that lies to me about something so important!"
"She never told anyone! She barely told her maids yesterday and me today, and she told me she was going to tell you today, she just didn't want it to be like that. And you want to know something?" He clenches his jaw.
"What?" He says harshly.
"She told me that she didn't want to tell you because you would treat her differently. That you would treat her like she wasn't worthy of you, that she was worthless and broken. And you did just that. You made her worst nightmare come true. You heartless, worthless person. You made her worst nightmare happen right in front of her eyes. But she was wrong, it's not that she isn't worthy of you, you aren't worthy of her. You don't deserve her, and you never will." With that, I turn around and start to walk away. But Adrain stops me.
"Wait." I stop and turn around, looking emotionlessly at Adrian. He looks broken, good, serves him right.
"What?" I say, coldly.
"Is she still here? She's in her room, right?" I laugh, humorlessly.
"Would you want to stay? No, she's not in her room. She's gone, Adrian. You drove her away for good. I hope you're happy with yourself, your highness." I turn around and walk away, leaving Adrain standing in his doorway looking broken.
~Adrian's POV    ~
I watch as Marley walks away, her words ringing in my ears. She's gone. She's actually gone.
You don't deserve her and you never will."
I'm such a horrible person.  I did exactly what Arabella didn't want to happen. I treated her like she was worthless. I'm the worthless one.  I'm definitely not worthy of her. She deserves so much better.
~One hour later~
I knock on Marley's door and wait for her to answer. I need to know where Arabella went. I have to go after her. The door opens and Marley's maid smiles at me.
"Your Highness, is there something I can do for you?"
"Yes, there is. Is Marley here? I need to speak to her." She nods her head and tells me to wait for a second. She disappears into the room and appears a minute later with Marley. She smiles at her maid and walks out the door, glaring at me as she closes it.
"What do you want?" She says, harshly. I sigh.
"Did Arabella tell you where she was going?" She raises an eyebrow.
"Why do you want to know? It's not like you care about her or anything."
"I do care about her, a lot. I love her, Marley, I really do. I made the biggest mistake of my life when I sent her away. I wasn't thinking straight. I need your help, Marley, please, I have to know where she went." She looks at me, expressionless, before finally speaking.
"You really love her, don't you?" I nod.
"Yeah, I really do." She sighs.
"I don't know where she went, Adrian. She wouldn't tell me. She wouldn't go home though, she said there was nothing there for her. I don't know where she's going. I'm sorry, Adrian, but she's gone." My heart drops at her words.
"No, she can't be gone. There's got to be some way I can find her. She can't just be gone. It can't end like this." Marley smiles sadly.
"I'm sorry, Adrian, I really am. But I think it's ending like this. There isn't anything we can do." I shake my head.
"No, I'm going to find her. Are you going to help me or not?" She swallows thickly, thinking.
"I'll help. But I'm telling you, I don't think there's anything we can do." I laugh, humorlessly.
"You obviously think there's something we can do or you wouldn't be helping me." She rolls her eyes and sighs.
"Whatever. We should talk to her maids, Ara might have said something to them." I nod and we walk to the next room. Marley knocks on the door and Ariel answers. She sees me and immediately glares harshly. She turns to Marley and smiles, opening the door for her to come in. Marley walks in and I try to follow, but Ariel shuts the door before I can get in. Yeah, I deserve that. I wait outside while Marley talks to them.
Marley comes back out a couple minutes later, looking discouraged. She looks at me sadly.
"I told you, it's hopeless. Arabella told them the same thing she told me. She's gone, Adrian, she could be anywhere." My heart sinks as I shake my head slowly.
"No, she can't be gone. I can't lose her like this. I've made the biggest mistake of my life." I mumble, tears filling my eyes. I just ruined my entire life. Just because I was upset over something so stupid. I take a shaking breath and blink the tears from my eyes, looking up. Marley looks at me sadly, tears filling her own eyes. She just lost her best friend because of me too. I'm such a screw-up. I just lost the love of my life.
