Alexander Hamilton is a pretentious asshole, John thinks as he stares at the boy sitting in front of him, contemptuously. He's so good looking but he uses that to flirt with girls like Eliza and Angie. He's friends with Burr and Jefferson for Christ's sake. Burr and Jefferson

He thinks he's so witty and smart when he corrects the teacher. I mean, John thinks, it's kinda funny but mostly just annoying and rude. Who corrects the teacher? Who pays attention in AP History? Who cares about Lin Manuel Miranda, the guy on the ten? John doesn't mind Anthony Ramos, that dude sounds cool. They should learn more about him, instead of freaking Daveed Diggs and Lin Manuel. Those white dickheads.

Actually, Hamilton reminded John a lot of Lin Manuel. Annoying, pretentious and doesn't know when to shut their goddamn mouth (IM SORRY LIN MY DAD FORGIVEME) John sighed as he watched Hamilton, yet again, stand up and spout some random fact that nobody cares about. I mean, he's kinda cute. Then John stopped in his tracks, did he really just think that? He shuddered, no one can know.

John Laurens, where could Hamilton begin? He had a secret love for the boy but also a not-so secret hate for him. Well, it was fake hate really. Alexander Hamilton had a secret, despite what he said that John Laurens was kiddy and fake and rude and awful, Alexander knew the opposite was true. He loved John.

And it scared him. That every time he heard John's name, his heart would skip a beat. Only for Alex to sneer at the comment and say how much he despised the beautiful boy mentioned. It scared him to think that John could never love him...they were enemies.

Alexander was making a speech about how Lin Manuel Miranda changed the USA for the good and deserves all the praise and cookies in the world. He scanned the room for reactions when his gaze landed on John's.

And something weird happened.

There was no hate in John's strikingly gorgeous eyes. Just wonderment. Almost amazement. The two kept eye contact for at least 5 seconds before John realized what happened and what he was doing. He turned his eyes into a glare so Alex looked away.

His eyes fell on Jefferson and Madison, sneering and giving him the thumbs up.

But John's eyes.

John's loving eyes.

Alex felt so helpless in that moment, he almost forgot what he was saying. Which, as many know, is very rare for Alexander Hamilton.

John ran out of the room as fast as possible and whizzed to his locker. Sighing, he leans his back against the wall of lockers and sinks down to the ground, covering his face with his binder.

Alexander Hamilton, goddamnit. Why must you be so charming and have such a way with words? And those eyes, those freaking eyes, man. John could've died, right then and there.

He was in love with the man he hated most in this world.

Well, crap.

"Hey Johnny-boy!" Peggy said, helping him to his feet.

"I have a problem!" He whisper-yelled, grabbing them by their shoulders. Peggy's eyes clouded over.

"What did Hamilton do now?" they asked, knowing their best friend quite well.

"He made me fall in love with him," John groaned and Peggy gasped. They were the only one who knew of John's flaming homosexuality.

"You poor soul," Peggy said, shaking their head.

John walked into the lunchroom when he felt someone grab him by the arm and pull him into the men's bathroom.

"What the hell ma--" John started, but stopped when he saw who was taking him hostage. "Alexader Hamilton. What the hell do you want from me?!"

Alex glared at the boy, crossing his arms to his chest. "You know very well what you did," he said,  his voice laced with anger and hate.

"No, I don't, you bastard!" John said, matching the hate in his own voice.

"You told everyone I was gay! Look, I don't know how the hell you found out but you better tell everyone you lied or I swear to god, John Laurens, I will kill you. I'm not kidding, I am going to murder you. There are so many reasons why saying that is not okay, you think that making fun of queer people is--"

"You're gay?" John asked, only hearing that one sentence. His eyes were wide.

Alexander blushed a deep shade of red as he broke eye contact with John. "I-I," for the first time ever, John heard Hamilton stuttering over his words. "I...I'm, NO!"

"I heard you," John smirked, his turn to cross his arms. "You literally just said it."

"John Laurens," Hamilton sounded exasperated...but kind of amused as well. "I swear to the good lord above, Lin Manuel, I will kill all of your friends and family if you tell a single soul!"

John thought about this new information. He couldn't help but feel happy...he had a chance. He actually had a chance. He wasn't going to lie, he always knew he and Alex had a connection. Maybe that's what drove him to hate Alex in the first place. because he was scared of being gay at the time. And then, even after he accepted it, the hate just became a habit.

"Alexander," he smiled, genuinely, at the nervous wreck in front of him. "I won't tell anyone. You're gay, looks like we have something in common."

"Wait--you're--" Alex didn't have the chance to finish as a pair of lips were pressed onto his own before he had time to think.

Alex's eyes flew open in shock, but he soon melted into the kiss and wrapped his arms around John's torso. He couldn't help but wish their first kiss would be in somewhere other than a smelly high school bathroom...but oh well. HE WAS KISSING GODDAMN JOHN LAURENS!1!

After the pair broke apart, John smiled. "I don't think I ever hated you, Hamilton."

Alexander smiled, pulled John into a tight hug. John Laurens: past enemies, crush, the first person he came out to...his first male kiss. "Thank you," he whispered.
