we talked everyday through instagram private messages until he finally asked for my phone number. i only gave it to him to continue with my plans.
his messages were sweet.
he genuinely liked soojin, a person who didn't exist. a person made up by me in order to hide the fact that i was the girl he coldly rejected in high school.
each time he texted me, all i could think about were the words he told me that day. "i would never go out with you." the words echoed in my head and fueled the bitterness in my heart. "you're so ugly."
