Poem 51 - Fishhooks

I've been trying to push you

Out of my life for a while,

& for your own good,

Yet here I find myself

Unable to do so,

Even though I know I should,

I think I'm finally growing tired of lying,

Tired of this horrifying ordeal,

I'm smiling as if fishhooks are pulling up the corners of my mouth but believe me when I tell you

It's not real.
