You pulled up to the middle school and got out a gust of cold fall wind hitting your face. You quickly made your way into the school wanting to get out of the cold weather "miss y/n nice to see you back" the principal said "nice to see you too" you chuckled "but I'm here to get Dustin" you said "okay follow me" you followed the principal into his office as he made his way over to the attendance papers "he didn't come in today" he said handing you a paper you looked at it and saw the little check that should be there wasn't. You looked at it confused Dustin wouldn't skip school, yeah it was Dustin, but he said this year he wanted to get perfect attendance. "Okay thank you" you handed him back the paper and quickly made your way out of his office then the school "I'm gonna kill him" you whispered to yourself as you pulled out of the parking spot.
You walked up to mikes house thinking maybe he could be here you knocked on the door. "Y/n Heyyy" Mike said opening the door awkwardly "hi mike is Dustin here" you crossed your arms over your chest "can you keep a secret" he asked fixing his posture you raised an eyebrow at him. He opened the door more so you could walk in and made you follow him to the basement where him and the boys usually played their game or just hung out. You saw Dustin and Lucas sitting on the couch with a girl that had all her hair cut off "this is eleven, El for short we found her when we went out looking for Will, she can help she said she saw him" Mike said you kneeled down in front of her "hi El I'm y/n" she smiled at you "pretty" she whispered which made you smile "you saw Will?" You asked wanting to change the subject she nodded her head "it's like this" you turned around to see Mike drawing "this is us were the stick figure but let's say this is Will" mike drew a dot under the line "we call it the upside down" Lucas said "so to get to will we have to move here" you pointed under the line and all three boys nodded "so eleven can help us get there right El?" Mike asked smiling at the girl she nodded. "Are you guys sure about this"you asked Dustin nodded "I hope your right El I trust you" you held her hand which was cold "are you hungry" you asked her her eyes lit up "egos?" She asked you looked at Mike with a smirk "she really likes waffles" he said and shrugged. "How about we try-" you were cut off by the phone ringing "I'll get it it's okay" you said and walked upstairs "hello?" You asked "y/n?" You recognized the voice "Jonathan hi" you replied "wait what's wrong" you could tell his voice was shaky worse then usual. "It's Will they found" he cut off his sentence with a sob "they found him?" You asked trying to make it better but you knew his tears weren't tears of joy "they found his body in the river" you felt like your heart dropped and you were left speak less "where are you" you asked "at the morgue" he replied "I'm coming" you hung up the phone. How were you gonna tell the boys? Tell them that one of their best friends was dead after being missing for three days. You slowly walked down to the basement and placed yourself back on the couch "guys I have something to tell you" you said the three of them sat around you eleven right by your side. "They um they found will" you said Dustins face lit up "really?!" He asked "not like that" you replied and his usual cheesy smile fell "like his body?" Lucas asked you nodded Mike froze "no he's here right El?" He pointed to the paper. She got up and quickly grabbed the Walky talky the boys had "he's not dead" she said and closed her eyes focusing on something. Static started to come out of the Walky talky before you heard Wills voice. Blood dripped out of Els nose and you quickly whipped it away with the sleeve of your green jacket

You walked into the morgue and drape of sadness falling over you. You saw Jonathan sitting next to hopper and you quickly made your way over. He had his head down while he played with his hands. "Jonathan" you said he looked up and quickly stood up you pulled him into a tight hug and rubbed his back Joyce burst threw the doors making you let go of him but you kept an arm around him just for comfort "that's not my son!" She yelled her eyes landed on you "y/n? You look nice" she politely smiled and you smiled back "but that's not him I know my boy he has a birth mark and it wasn't there that's not him" she said Jonathan walked away from you and over to his mom holding her hands "ma you gotta stop come on" he begged "no I just talked to him at home I set up lights so he can talk to me it was uh one blink for yes two blinks for no cause that thing has him" she said quickly letting go of Jonathan's hands "what did it look like" hopper said "it had long arms and it didn't have a face" she said gripping onto hoppers arms you saw Jonathan getting more upset every word she said he walked away leaving the morgue you wanted to run after him but he had already got in his car and left. You walked out knowing hopper was probably gonna talk to Joyce and got in your car but didn't start it didn't pull out of your parking spot you had to think. You didn't know what to believe..
