A/N okay so this is a different kinda chapter. This is gonna just be the call between Jack and his Mum. C= Mum and J=Jack. There is a little bit of 'story' at the beginning but the rest is 'script'. Enjoy!
Jack picked up his phone and selected his mothers contact. His thumb hovered over the 'call' button. Mark gave him a nod and walked out of the room. Jack wasn't ready to face his mum let alone call her. But he had to, so he pressed the call button and held his phone up to his ear.
*beep beep*
C- Hello?
J- Hey mum. It's Jack.
C- Jack! Darling how are you?
J- I'm grand mum. How are you?
C- I'm wonderful now you've called! I'm guessing you got my text yes?
J- Ye... abou~
C- Oh marvellous! I can't wait for you to meet her! The only drawback is, is that you'll have to come back to Ireland. But I'm sure you'd love to come home, yes?
J- Mum I can't come home. And I can't meet this 'wonderful girl'. It's just wrong.
C- Why? Have you found someone already?! What's her name?! Do tell!
J- I have met someone. I'm dating them. It's a he. And his name is Mark. Mum, I told you I was gay before. I can't just change! It's how I feel. It's how I was born! And not even you or the prettiest girl out there can change that.
C- Jack. You don't love him. It's a phase. It's. Not. Real. Can't you understand that?
J- I do love him. It's not a phase. And it is very much real. Can YOU understand that? Please?
C- No.
J- Fine. I'll get in touch again soon. Love you mum. Bye.
C- Bye Jack.
*End of call*
"Oh my dear lord that was the hardest thing I've ever done." Jack sighed to himself. Why couldn't his mum just be happy for him? He trudged down the stairs and saw Mark sat on the sofa. He walked over and sat next to Mark.
"How'd it go babe?"
"Fucking terribly. She still doesn't understand."
"Don't worry. She will. In the meantime, come and cuddle with me. It's starting to get really lonely over here."
Jack smiled at Mark and crawled over to him. He laid his head on his chest and got comfy. They stayed like this for the rest of the night.
