Toby Mackenshire was the first to go missing. He was only 12 and it happened right after school. Nobody knew how happened, or even noticed until his parents informed everyone in the small town of Victoria, that their poor son had gone missing. He wasn't the last one that this mysterious kidnapper took. Then Suzy Jenkins was gone, not long followed after Matt Jenkins, her younger brother.

"Alright everybody gather around! Our good mayor wants to talk to us!" Shouted Gus McFarland. He was the old hick of the town. He kept thinking he was in the time era of cowboy's and men that would spit tobacco into those tine buckets. Even though everyone in the town tried to convince him to realize that times have changed. But he still won't listen.

The mayor, with his large round body, slowly stepped up on the podium. Buttons practically popping off the seam of his shirt. It was very obvious he had a hard time getting up there. "Alright ladies and gentlemen, I have come to address the following issue that we have seen over the last few weeks." He paused looking out to the crowd for a dramatic impact. Everyone stared back as he took a heaving breath in and continued. "We've all noticed the ... well .. disappearances of the younger members of our small community. Now we do have our police force on the case right now as we speak. But I'm going to need you to not worry. We have everything under control, and if any of the missing children are found we will return them to their parents. Thank you and have a nice night." The closing statement caused quite a commotion in the large field everyone was standing in. People started piling out except for one young child left behind in the chaos. Her name was Samantha Wiley.

She was already a quite curios girl, and watching the speech and the mayors behavior made her even more curios. She noticed the beads of sweat dripping from his forehead every time he mentioned the missing children, and needed to investigate. "I'm going to be a Crime investigator when I get older." She would tell her mother, and her mother would just smile at her daughter and agree with her.

So 13 year old Samantha Wiley followed the mayor backstage and outside to his car. But opening the exit doors all she saw was a running car, but the mayor was nowhere to be seen, and neither was the commanding officer , Deputy Carlton. Samantha venture out a little farther outside of the door, and jumped when she heard it close behind her. The Mayor was standing right behind her, breathing heavily and his hands clenched into fists. "Hello...Samantha. What are you doing back here?" He asked quietly and calmly. "Um, I lost my parents... I'm about to head home that's all." She replied her voice quivering. "I see. Well you know what happens to little girls when they get lost, I explained it very carefully in my speech. They can get taken, and never see their parents again, you wouldn't want that to happen to you would you?" He asked crouching down to Samantha's height. She shook her head furiously. "No. I wouldn't." The Commanding  Officer started to creep up behind her quietly and waited for the Mayors signal. "Well, maybe you should have stayed closer to your parents, Samantha." He told her, and then his eyes darted to the officer behind her, who covered her mouth to muffle her screams and proceeded to put her into the back of the car after tying her up. The Mayor slowly hopped into the car and drove away silently.

Nobody knows where the children are or what happened to them. Except for one, and that's me. It's been 10 years since I've been taken that night, and I am just now getting a chance to leave a not or write to somebody who will find this. I am currently living in the woods, I'm not sure exactly where I am. But I know that I'm far from home. Maybe I'll get back eventually, but at least I'm glad I'm away from those terrible men. I wish I could say the same for my friends.
