She had been on the run for a long time. For a very very long time.

However what else could she do? In the past month vampires had taken over the world enslaving every human. Basically treating them like cattle and capturing every last one but her. She had made it, though from misery to worse. Being captured made you a slave forever, but getting away would mean you would be on the run forever.

Their villa was close to a forest, and she had run and hid there for a long time before she had to sneak out for food once the weather didn't let fruits grow on the trees. When she tried sneaking around their villa there was nothing left, totally and utterly destroyed with no father nor stepmother around. No choice she had but to sneak around the city before the cold weather killed her for good.

She usually hid when vampires were out and was on the run when they were asleep. In contrary to typical belief they were up in the daytime, and asleep in the night although not needing sleep for as many hours as humans. From what she had figured out they also had a normal life span but looked around 20 years old even when they aged, and rumor had it that if a human drank their blood they would also keep their youthful looks just like vampires.

That meant if she got her hands on vampire blood right now while she was exactly 20 years old, she would keep looking 20 until she died, and would also have a better chance at running away from them and hiding for the rest of her life since she would keep a healthier body than if she actually aged. However while she was walking and her thoughts drifted to that thought she chuckled mumbling; "good luck getting my hands on these beasts blood before they rip me apart" and kept walking in the moonlight.

Her long dark wavy hair was styled in a cascade waterfall braid since she had lost her hair elastics while on the run, however with the waterfall braid it was just like wearing a hair tiara. A few tangles here and there couldn't be avoided considering the situation, and had she had a scissor she would have cut her waist long princess like hair since the first day she choose to be on the run, since it was very hard to be able to wash and clean it every now and then.

"God I am freezing" she chattered her teeth whispering for herself with her hoarse voice due to not talking for so long. For the last 2 days she had been walking to another city since she couldn't stay in her own considering too many people there knew her and had tried to stop her to talk which was getting dangerous since they were slaves already and would find out she was still free and on the run. Her tight long sleeve white top and white shorts weren't helping considering she was cold all the time.

It was best for her to go somewhere where she knew none and could stay anonymous. The train or any sort of transportation besides her own two feet was out of question, so she was walking a bit further from the main road and in the forest trying to get to her destination which she could see further ahead. A bigger city, which also had been overtaken by vampires. It couldn't even be considered a war since they took over the whole world in less than 5 hours.

Once she reached the city she had been walking for 6 hours with no break and the sun was close to rising. She had to both try to find some food in the trash bins around since she had begun to feel nausea out of hunger, and she also had to find a good hiding spot before the sun rose. Sneaking around the city it looked almost deserted, but that was how all areas had been since the vampires came, if you couldn't hear vampires talking then there was none since humans were second class nowadays. More like just things to be brought and enslaved.

She felt anger rising within her while walking and suddenly heard the quiet sobbing of a child and hushed angry tones and stomping of grown ups while walking past an alleyway. At first she reminded herself that she was here for anonymity and wouldn't stick her nose where it didn't belong but after turning around curiosity taking the best of her the blood drained from her face. She wanted to walk, she wanted to just ignore it and keep herself away from trouble but she couldn't.

From where she stood she could barely make out the shadow of a child surrounded by 5 adults. "Vampires" was the first thought that hit her and without thinking further she ran faster to them trying to get to the child. No way was she going to leave a child alone and helpless with these disgusting creatures. Running closer she could see the shadows of them in the dark. Adults kicking a child, a little boy to be exact, and she pulled her knife out standing between them hiding the little boy behind her back and facing them to protect him.

Only then her jaw fell open and the knife she had raised she hurried to put down once she heard the voice of one of the men and finally got to her senses seeing he was one of her own.

"We are humans, don't get close to the filthy vamp boy," he told her moving closer while throwing his baseball bat away as a sign of peace. She started looking at them all. Some had baseball bats and others had knives in their hands but what was alike on all the men was their eyes, build and looks. They were definitely human with their normal eyes, their lack of fangs and smaller, less tall frames. Humans who were just like her and going against the vampires, she started feeling happiness inside her body. A warm feeling flooding her but once she took her first step towards them with a smile starting to spread on her face she suddenly felt a tug on her top and her head jerked around.

She looked down at the vampire boy with his black orbs going back and forth from totally black to an icy blue color. Those eyes were the biggest proof to her on whose side she should be on, but what scared her was how she felt sorry for him instantly. His tiny hands grabbing her blouse and him whispering for her the words "help me, make the bad guys go away" over and over. He had teary eyes which she didn't think was normal for vampires and his small fangs were showing with each time he tried to speak.

She suddenly felt her hands raising the knife up again at their own accord and her eyes burning in anger. The vampire boys eyes widened and her own softened thinking he probably thought she would end his life since she was a human too. She then turned around pushing him behind her and yelling at the men "Move aside or you will all die, i repeat move aside or i wont hesitate to kill you!"

"You bitch, helping a vampire and going against your own!" one of the men roared buffing himself up and moving towards her with his baseball bat.

She thought she was going crazy for sure now. Of course she was going crazy to go against them just to help a filthy vampire, but nonetheless she couldn't leave this little boy to fend for himself. Once the men charged at her she tried pushing the little vampire to the opposite side so he could make a run for it and prepared herself with her knife although she knew it was a lost case. Before she would even get her knife close to them they would have beat her head up so badly with a baseball bat she wasn't even sure it would stay connected to her neck anymore.

It all happened so fast but before they even made it to her she suddenly saw two of the five men flying to the side. Everyone stopped looking confused all of a sudden, and then she saw them. There was no mistake with how they looked. Seeming to be 6'3 and with one having dirty blonde dreadlocks and baggy clothes and the other having a long black spikey lion mane hairstyle with blonde highlights and tight black clothes they were not humans, not to mention the dark eye color going from dark to an electric blue just like the little one.

Two vampires standing tall and proud and the little vampire boy running towards them. These two though were not little boys and instead grown up and looked to be in their mid twenties meaning all of them were screwed for good now. The thought that they were all going to die for sure now barely registered before the vampires both smirked in a sinister way showing their pearly white fangs and then with lighting speed charged towards them.
