Megan's P.O.V:
Ratman.
Ratman sat in a white desk in front of us. I ran towards him suddenly enraged. I couldn't control myself.
I hit the barrier and began to pound on it. Screaming profanities at him.
"Now now Agent 01. This is no way to behave. Even if your going insane." He said with a chuckle.
Newt ran up to me and pulled me back with Minho.
"Calm down Megan." Newt whispered in my ear.
"Sorry. I don't know what came over me."
"It's alright love."
Rat man stood up.
"I come bearing some news. Tomorrow morning a flat trans will open at this very wall." He said pointing behind him. "Through it you will go. It's open 6:00-6:05. Anyone who doesn't enter will be executed. Through the trans is the scorch. There are no rules or restrictions in this trial. You have 2 weeks to walk 100 miles to the north. There you'll receive the cure for the flare, which you've all now caught. Oh and Megan you've failed us. Which is why Brysen is gone. You won't see him again. Ever."
My heart shattered. I was alone. Truly alone. He's dead. They killed him. Tears streamed down my face but I never broke eye contact with Rat man. He was going to pay for this.
Suddenly the whole thing disappeared and Rat man was gone.
"Are you alright love?" Newt asked.
I didn't answer. I couldn't. I would start bawling if I did. So instead I walked back into the bunk bed room.
I laid down on a bed and let sleep envelope me.

  My eyes fluttered open. And all I could think about was him. He's dead and there's nothing I can do.
  I could hear talking coming from outside of the room. I slowly got up and pushed my ear to the door.
"I'm bloody worried about her. I don't know how much of this she can take. It's a lot for us but more for her." Definitely Newt.
"I know but right now all we can do is try and help her through it. I mean I think that my amazing looks could probably get us through the scorch alone." Most likely Minho. 
"Yeah I guess your right. We have 1 hour before we have to get up. Let's go back to bed."
  The door creaked open and I rushed into my bed. Pretending to be asleep.
  I felt my bed dip a little and an arm snake around my hips.
"Newt."
"Yes love?"
"What's going to happen to us?"
"I'm not sure. But I will do everything I can to make sure that you don't get hurt. You'll be invisible to everything bad."
"Promise?"
"Promise."
