"Hello.." I heard an annoyed Aiden. I was driving down the road as I held the phone to my ear.
"Get dressed. I'll be there in five minutes." I ordered.
"What's the occasion?" He said with a sarcastic tone. I rolled my eyes so hard I thought they were gonna roll onto the dashboard.
"Look just be ready." I snapped. Then the line went dead. I tossed my phone onto the passenger seat with a sigh.
Then my phone rang again. I secretly hoped it was Aiden but when I picked up the phone and Adam's face popped up on my screen. I rolled my eyes a bit and answered.
"Yes.."
"Have you guys gotten there yet?"
"No not yet." I replied pulling up to a stop sign.
"Well do you remember the password?"
"Yes." I clenched my jaw in irritation.
I could feel the smirk coming out of the phone. "It's just a password. So don't get any ideas."
"As if." I rolled my eyes. He thinks I was actually considering it. Then my phone beeped letting me know I have a call coming through. Samuel's face popped up on my screen. "Look I have another call coming in, I'll you later," I said.
"Bye gorgeous."
I rolled my eyes. I still hate that nickname but it's kind of been said so many times I don't even pay attention anymore.
I answered Samuel's call.
"What's up boss?" I smiled widely.
"Well hello to you too. What have you been up to?"
"I just left Reagan's house and I'm picking up Aiden to celebrate his promotion." I answered.
"Again?"
"Uh..huh,"
"Well you should bring your new boyfriend by the job. Wendy is dying to see him." I heard a teasing tone playing in his voice.
"Is he hot!?" I heard Wendy in the background.
"You'll see soon. I'll bring him by maybe this week. And Sam, try to be nice." I pleaded.
"What's that suppose to mean?" He asked with skepticism drowning in voice.
"You get salty in front of new people," I reminded as I pulled into my neighborhood.
"I don't get salty." Samuel said in a correcting tone.
"Yes you do." Wendy and I said in unison.
"You know what! I didn't call to get an attitude adjustment. I wanted to tell you that the Carpenters made an appointment for their thanksgiving greeting cards." Samuel announced.
"Isn't it a little early for greeting cards? It's only October."
"The Carpenters get things done early."
"Alright. And I need to be aware of this why?" I asked pulling into my driveway.
"They want you to do their portraits Kendall." Samuel said slowly.
I froze in my spot a little. My fingernails dug into the stirring wheel. "You serious?" I whispered.
"Yes. They asked for you personally." He laughed.
"Are you kidding!" I said through a laugh. I ran a hand through my hair and clutched it tightly.
"No I am not kidding they want you Ken congratulations!" Samuel said proudly. I let out a small high pitch scream. I couldn't believe they want me of all people they want me to take their portraits. I grinned like an idiot. I couldn't believe this for a second.
