Chapter 27

Maya POV

I woke up in the middle of the night missing Lucas and decided to go over to his place. I grabbed my backpack along with a pair of clothes to change in tomorrow. I left Mom a note in the kitchen letting her her know where I was so that she didn't wake up alarmed that I had left. I climbed up the fire escaped and went through a window. I know it was risky but I just wanted to be with my boyfriend. Luckily I made it to Lucas's bedroom without waking anyone up. I quietly walked into Lucas's bedroom and got into bed with him. 

"Maya?" he whispered when felt me cuddle into him. "What's wrong, what are you doing here?" 

"Nothing Huckleberry. I just missed you and wanted to be with you." I replied as cuddled into him. 

"How did you get in?" he asked. 

"I climbed through a window and made sure to not wake anyone up." I whispered. "I'm so sorry for the way I acted today, I love you so much and thought of losing you pains me." 

"It's okay don't worry about it. You just got me back so I understand why you're afraid of losing me." he said as he held me tight. "I love you too and just know that you will never lose me." 

"You're the best thing to ever happen to me and I can't take other girls becoming interested in you." I said and he started laughing. 

"You don't have to worry about it because there is no other girl that I want more than you." he replied. "You're mine." 

"I love you, Lucas. Thank you for being so good to me." I said before placing my lips on his. "You made tonight amazing." 

"I love you more than anything in this world . You complete me and will always be mine." he said to me. 

I fell asleep in Lucas's arms and didn't wake up again until the alarm went off for us to get up for school. I didn't want to wake up so I just laid there. 

"Time to get up beautiful or we're gong to be late." Lucas whispered. 

"But I don't want to." I whined. 

"But you have to." he said as he gave me a peck on the lips. 

"I'm so tired." I replied. 

"LUCAS!! We have to go get Maya!" I heard Kenzie yell from the other room.

I started giggling "She's going to be so surprised I'm here." I whispered. 

"Be out in a minute, Kenz!" Lucas yelled before throwing the covers over our heads causing me to squeal and kissing me unexpectedly. 

"Oh my god Lucas!" I exclaimed after we both come up for air. 

"What?" he looked at me with a grin. 

"Not that I don't love kissing you but that was unexpected." I giggled. 

Lucas and I got up to get around for school so that we had enough time to eat breakfast before we left. We walked out into the kitchen where Kenzie was eating her cereal and talking to Mrs. Friar who looked up when she saw us. 

"Maya?" Kenzie said causing Mrs. Friar to look up at me and Lucas "What are you doing here?" 

"Oh I didn't know you were here, Maya." Mrs Friar replied. 

"She decided to come over last night after you guys went to bed." Lucas chimed in. 

"Hi Mrs. Friar and hello to you McKenzie!" I replied. 

McKenzie finished up her cereal then went out the living room to watch cartoons while she waited for us to eat breakfast. Lucas grabbed us some bowls and spoons before sitting down at the table. 

"I hope you're using condoms." his mom said unexpectedly and I snorted. 

Lucas glared at me "Mom!" he said to her. 

"What? She stays here all the time. You don't think I know whats going on behind closed doors." she replied. 

"Mom, really this is not the time to be having this discussion." he answered and I giggled. 

"Lucas it's fine. Mrs. Friar, you don't have to worry about anything. I'm on the pill and Lucas makes sure he's protected." 

"This is so awkward." Lucas mumbled. 

"See, this is why like her. She's honest." his mom said. 

"Lucas really it's fine! As embarrassing as this is you can't expect her to not know. She was a teenager once." I laughed. 

"Let's just change the subject." he replied. 

Lucas and I ate our breakfast and once done we gathered up McKenzie then headed out to school. Lucas wasn't saying much and I wondered if he was mad at me for what had happened in the kitchen. After dropping McKenzie off at school I figured it would be a good time to talk. 

Lucas turned to face me as soon as McKenzie got out of the car "Did you really have to go and do that?" he snapped. 

"What?" I asked him. 

"You know exactly what I'm talking about, Maya. Don't play dumb." he said with anger showing through his voice. 

"Oh come on Lucas she already knew. " I argued back.  "I don't understand why you are so angry." 

"Well I could have handled it without you telling her about our personal life." he replied and I was in shock over how he was acting. 

"She already knew about our personal life." I said getting more annoyed with how he was acting. 

"Not really. I mean we could have ignored what she said just continued on with what we are doing but you had to go laugh and tell her everything." he replied back. 

"There is no way you could have ignored her on that, Lucas." 

"Sure you could have or like I said you could let me handle it." he said as he pulled the car into park,. 

Now I was fuming "You're being so ridiculous right now." 

We both got out of the car and Lucas locked the doors behind us. "You know what's ridiculous? The fact that you think you know my mom more than I do. It wasn't your place to chime in. When it comes to me and my mom just stay out of it." he snapped. 

"That was low Lucas." I said as a tear ran down my cheek. "I'm done here."

I pulled the spare keys out of my car, unlocked the doors, and drove off leaving him in the school parking lot. I could hear him calling my name but i just ignored him. What was happening to me and Lucas? This is the second time in two days that we have fought and this time was worse than the first time around.
