Perhaps all at the same time...
‘’What do you think you’re doing?’’ It was funny how he still had an audacity to ask that question. I was still panting and I felt more exhausted than ever. For some reason I couldn’t even bring myself to confront him. I felt ashamed of myself, like someone had rub foul mud over my face and I had let them do just that, like someone just tied strings on top of my head and played with me like a puppet, like someone had ripped away a part of my heart and I gave them permission and … it hurt more than anything in the world.
I was used by him. He didn’t even thought for once how I felt for him, how I defended him from Rhodes accusations over and over again. Was it too easy to break someone’s blind trust on you?
I looked away from him, yanked away my hand harshly and talked away in the opposite direction. I heard his footsteps following me which only made me walk faster.
‘’Violet wait!’’ he caught hold of me and turned me around and I couldn’t even stop tears falling from my eyes.
‘’What happened?’’
‘’What happened? Do you think this is some kind of joke? Do you think we’ll just brush it off like that?’’ I yelled at him and incredulous feelings danced in my eyes. Oliver looked taken aback from my tone,
‘’I am not sure what you’re saying.’’
‘’You betrayed me! You used me to win the competition. Was winning everything to you? I believed in you and you did just what anyone would expect.’’ I cried, ‘’I thought you were different but you … you still played with my emotions.’’
‘’What are you even trying to say?’’ He snapped,
‘’Forget it, I am so done with you.’’ I muttered and attempted to leave but he held me back, his vice like grip keeping me from moving.
‘’I’m not letting go unless you clarify-‘’
‘’Clarify what exactly? How you made the whole plan of fooling me with Melissa? You brought me to your apartment and kissed me on intention. All that petty talk about your parents – it was all false. You started becoming friendly out of blue, you started kissing me like I was some rag doll you could play with uh?’’
Oliver looked pissed, he grabbed both of my shoulders and brought me closer, so close that our faces were inches apart, his eyes were narrowed and it looked like he was trying hard not to burst up,
‘’I did that. I thought you believed me Violet. You said it again and again that you trust me, I didn’t force you to do that.’’
‘’Congratulations then, you managed to do it without force, not that I blame you.’’ I said bitterly, Oliver let go of me and stumbled back,
‘’I thought you were a smart one.’’ He whispered, his eyes never left mine. My temper wasn’t holding much longer, I glared at him with as much hatred as my eyes could’ve mustered up.
‘’I loved you!’’ My voice rang in the night air and shock crossed in his eyes. He took a step back, his eyes wide and his mouth agape. The confession was harder on me, I was still breathing heavily like I had returned from a life long marathon. I felt more exhausted than I ever had.
‘’I thought I was a smart person, guess I had it all wrong.’’ I whispered and before he could stop me again, I ran out of the yard as fast as possible, as away from him as I could.

Just a day before I was imagining us having a party among ourselves after the supposed success in the third round and our place as the finalists in the competition…locking myself in my room and crying on my pillow hadn’t been my idea of weekend.
