UPDATE 1/21/2018 - I'm editing this book so you might find some errors and contradictions along the way, don't worry its just the editing process! I'm wholly rewriting the chapters, which means the timeline can get confusing and you might see things that weren't mentioned at all. Like I said, worry not, the book will be shiny and edited soon!
Thanks to @aeris- for amazing cover!

1. Good vibes and the Frowning Boy
I hadn't plan to wake up as a zombie on the first day of Lakesville Summer Camp. I had been awake during ungodly hours of the night before, fueled with a mixture of excitement and nervousness of joining the camp. Even till three, when the whole house was asleep and I could hear Dad's snoring from across his room, I had been talking to Rhodes on the phone. I had fell asleep with the phone in my hand and woke up with a cramp in my neck. Not the most pleasant way to start the big day, but not enough to kill the good vibes.
I had waited for the Camp to start since January when Ms. Forman, our music club head told us about it. Rhodes and I were able to sign up earlier when the seats were still available and we spent the last five months planning and day dreaming about the Camp. I had even chosen my best clothes to wear on the first day. After getting sober enough, I dressed up as fast as possible, putting on a plaid skirt I bought from a sale three weeks ago and a plain black top. I could smell breakfast from the kitchen as I packed my bag and closed the door behind me.
''Violet is that you?'' Dad yelled from downstairs, probably trying to juggle the pancakes and eggs at the same time. It was our standard breakfast, but Dad was so good at it that I could live the rest of my life on his scrambled eggs.
''I'm awake!'' I yelled back and checked the twins room before going downstairs. Their beds were unmade but empty, which meant they were already awake and sitting on the table. I closed their door and hopped down the flight of stairs, humming to my self. Back in the kitchen, the breakfast smelled divine and my stomach grumbled in response.
''Hey'' I flopped down on a chair across Elliot, who was shaking his head at me.
''It took us half an hour to wake you up. Half an hour. That's thirty minutes.''
''Jeez El, I know how to count time.'' I said and took a huge gulp of the bottled orange juice sitting in front of me. He shook his head in response, as if he really believed I was incapable of calculating time. Sure my Math grade never scraped past a C, but I wasn't dumb like he made me most of the time.
Clay giggled and I glared at him too, which wasn't too effective to shut him up. Beside him, Drew was trying not to spill the maple syrup all over her clothes.
''Let me help you with that.'' I muttered and grabbed the bottle from her, gently pouring just enough on her pancakes.
''Dad! Your coffee is getting cold!'' I called from the table,
''Coming just now!'' His reply came a second later.
''Are you excited Violet?'' Drew asked me, blinking her eyes.
I played with her cheeks, accidentally smudging some of the syrup over them, ''I am! I'm so excited I can't contain myself!'' Just then Dad joined us, balancing a glass of milk in one hand and a plate of omelette in another. Sweat lined his face as he set them down on the table and took a seat beside Elliot.
