↣chapter eight; p.o.v of charlotte (richard pryo above)

1:00 p.m

Why I woke up so late today? I had no clue. I was driving around yesterday, and ended up coming home at around 1:00 a.m. A few minutes shortly, after checking my social media, my phone started to buzz, signaling that Gareth was calling. I instantly smiled.

[Phone Conversation]

Me: Hello?

Gareth: Hi.

Me: What's up?

Gareth: I need to tell you something...

Me: Uh, okay. What is it?

Gareth: I can't go with you tonight.

My smile faded.

Me: Wait what?

Gareth: I completely forgot that I had promised a friend of mine, that she would be my date for the night...

I felt like I had just been stepped on, but I understood. He promised someone else...

Gareth: -I'm really sorry-

Me: It's fine. I was probably going to stay home.

I didn't want to make my brother drive me. I would have felt bad. I wanted him to go with his girlfriend, and didn't want to be the third wheel. I decided maybe I just wasn't going to go. I could always use that dress for something else.

Gareth: No-you should come. We'll miss you there.

Me: Good thing you guys will still see me at work.

He was silent for a moment, then replied:

Gareth: I guess so...but it's not the same.

Me: Don't worry about me. Go have a good time.

Gareth: I still think you should come.

Me: I'll think about it. I'll see how I feel later. If I feel like it, I'll come.

More like if I found a ride, and a date-I'd go.

Gareth: Alright then bye.

Me: Peace.

I said quickly, and instantly ended the call. I had to admit, I was a little upset-but I couldn't do anything. I got out of bed and got ready for the day. I thought I should text Chris, to let him know about what was happening tonight.

Me: Hey i'm not going tonight

Chris: WAT WHY??

Me: My date bailed on me

Me: Said they promised some1 else the night

Me: So I have no date, & no ride

Me: Just figured, just not to go

Chris: No u have to go -joce

Chris: In that case, go look on the kitchen counter
