"So Lux, do I count as your friend?" I blurted out to save both of us from the awkwardness standing between us.

"Of course! You're the most wonderful best friend anyone could ask for." she said while writing some notes on a piece of parchment.

"You too." was all I could say since I was super happy but yet still confused.

A few days had passed from that big commotion with 'Devil Mermen'. But all the other days have been normal from now on.

Lux had been doing some Charms with her wand when suddenly, the dorm's doors has just whacked open.

"What the f-" Lux jumped out of the way before a small letter made a cut on her nose.

The letter had stopped and dropped in front of her feet and opened with orange and red leaves circling around Lux's hair, which was now light purple because she could control it now.

Dear Lux,

Would you fancy joining me for the annual Fall Ball as a friend? It would be a pleasure.

Please owl me back as soon as you can.

Yours faithfully, Cedar Simps.

The letter said formally. Then dissolved into tiny leaves.

"Looks like you got yourself a boyfriend." Seth teased.

"Boyfriend? We're just friends." Lux mutters back.

"Hah, I doubt it. He seems into you." She smiles nastily again.

"Jeongli." Lux recites and the leaves vanish from sight.

So Lux writes a response back to Cedar:

Hey Cedar,

Sorry that I can't write formally like you did. But it would be wonderful if we went together to the Ball.

Please tell me if you can meet me in my dorm after supper.

Riyeko and I proceeded to the eating hall, chatting about the day we had. Until I caught the eye of a certain girl, who I think is one of those devil mermaids, coming towards us.

"Riyeko I think someone is coming our way, and I think it's for you," I warned him walking away to go get some food. As I was walking, I kept on looking back to go see what was happening.

I finally got some food, and focused my attention on both of them. The girl kept on playing with Riyeko's tie, giving flirty smiles, and whispering in his ear. He kept on blushing and looked very shy. I'm very sure that a girl has never found an interest in him before. She then led him out of the hall, and I quickly tailed right behind them, not making it so obvious I was following them.

"BOO!" shouted Ryder right behind me, as I shrieked.

"Ryder, don't scare me like that!"

"Sorry, I won't do it again. Anyways what are you doing?"

"Nothing, if you want, just follow me."

"Okay then," he replied back, as we climbed up the stairs onto the second floor, and caught up to them. I hid behind the wall and listened to them quietly.

"Wait," Ryder stated, "why are we spying on your roommate?" I ignored his question and shushed him. He glared right back at me.

"Okay, okay. Some random girl started talking to Riyeko, I thought it was okay, but then she started flirting with him! After, she led him out of the hall, so I got curious, and now I'm here telling you this."

"Oh, do you like Riyeko?" Ryder asked with a hint of hurt in his voice.

"No! Not like that, we're just friends, and I'm just looking out for him." I explained to him.

"Oh. Well then, now is the good time to tell you that they are making out. I think she's trying to eat his face."

"Wait, what?!" I shouted, not remembering that Riyeko was here. I turned my head to their direction seeing that the girl was almost trying to eat his face. Her mouth is scary long and her face looked so elongated. Riyeko whipped his head to the direction of my voice, and let go the grasp from the girl's hands and walked out from the terrace, speaking out, "Vivian, are you there?"

"Yeah..." I took a step out of my hiding place and showed my face, embarrassed.

"What are you doing here?" he asked with a little bit of disappointment in his voice. Ryder stepped in front of me.

"We were just taking a walk," Ryder said saving my ass.

"Oh," Riyeko replied unconvinced, " do you know who you're going to the Fall Ball with? Tasha, here just reminded me."

"Umm...." I exaggerated too long.

"We're going together! Vivian and I are going to the Fall Ball together. Isn't that right, Vivian?" he stepped in again, as I gave him a nod.

"Oh, that's cool. I'm going with Tasha." he stated harshly while pulling Tasha into view.

"That's nice. I'm going to go with Ryder to go get a drink. Do you want come?" I honestly replied back.

"No, its fine." Riyeko said humbly.

"Well, bye!" I said as Ryder and I waved back to them. We then walked to the coffee place, and started talking.
