The Inheritance

Lux, Seth, Dorm Room

Lux had woken up from her bed thinking she was still in the dirty apartment. But then she realized it wasn't a dream after all. She got out of bed and took a shower.

She went to the kitchen to find bags of groceries on the counter. Inside were some, eggs, bacon, milk, juice, bread, cereal, butter, jam, lemon marmalade, fruit, and pop tarts for some reason. So she just popped a chocolate pop tart in the toaster.

When she was cleaning her dishes, Seth walked in.

"Oh, it's you. I forgot you were here." she groaned at the sight of Lux.

"Morning." Lux said cheerfully.

"Whatever, I just need to get something." So she reached for a few crackers and a wine glass full of blood.

"Why don't you just eat over here?" Lux asked her.

"Ha....That's funny." Seth replied back grimly.

After that, Lux got tired of trying to convince Seth into just sitting down with her. So she just tried to put her hair up. But it was too hard, with all the colours flashing and burning her hands.

"Whatever."

I woke up in the comfort of my bed, but knowing I have to wake up early, I went to go take a nice, long shower. As I did, my stomach grumbled right on time.

I wanted to make Vivian breakfast today since it was her first, official day at the academy. I then walked over to the kitchen and started to crack some eggs and toast some bread. Afterwards I began to set up the table.

Immediately as I finished cooking and serving everything, Vivian came out and took a glance at me while yawning. "What did you make?" she asked while walking towards the table and examined the food surprised, "You made an omelette and French toast? I didn't know you could cook."

"Well, I do." I said to her, smiling.

"Thanks," she said happily, "I was wondering if I would have to make myself food."

I gestured to the empty seats. "Lets eat," I offered.

*After Breakfast*

"That tasted really good." said Vivian, "Well, I think I'll be going to my room now."

Again? I made a confused face at her, "Why? Don't you have to do other stuff?"

She laughed, a musical sound, then made a face at me. "If you cook, then YOU clean!" she shoved her empty plate in my hands and ran off into her room.

"Hey!" I called, frustrated, but I couldn't help the smile that was slowly growing on my face.

That girl really was something.

I heard a knock on our dorm door while washing the dishes. Grumbling, I went to open it. Who bangs on a door this early in the morning?

"Who is it?" I heard Vivian call, running to answer the door.

"I'll get it!" I called back to her, twisting open the doorknob to see a small box lying carelessly on the floor.

Bending down, I noticed the small letters in the right hand corner that read, "Apple Pager"

I hope this one works better than last year... I stepped back inside and put the package on the table.
