I had been pretty nervous just few moments ago but now those cheers were slowly penetrating inside me and giving me an ultimate confidence boost.

It was a bloody rocking experience for us.

When I struck the last chord of my guitar, I was breathing hard, there was a huge grin on my face and we all were waving to the crowd who we had managed to make happy.

‘’Something’s wrong.’’ That was the first thing Rhodes said when we came back to that room. My grin vanished and gave him a thoroughly confused look. He set down his guitar and stared back at me,

‘’What happened?’’

It was Lana who answered my question, ‘’Our dear judges didn’t look too happy, Those old folks were giving us weird looks.’’ I had been too focused on hearing the crowd cheers that I had completely forgotten about the judges and their expressions. Rhodes doubts suddenly threatened all the jubilant feelings my mind was harboring until now.

‘’I felt that as well but…I shook it away that maybe I was over thinking stuff.’’ Stella said.

‘’Not you as well,’’ I told her in a very whiny voice and threw a panicky look in her direction.

Before I could go on and complain more the door opened and Mr. Flynn waked in – or rather stalked inside with a very serious expression on his face.

‘’I think we need to talk.’’ He said, his mouth set in thin line and his fist were clenched. Oh boy, something was definitely wrong, even my whining won’t stop that. I exchanged a glance with Rhodes who just shrugged ins response while all of shared the same confused expressions set on our faces.

‘’The rules were pretty clear weren’t they? No band was allowed to play the same song.’’ When Mr. Flynn spoke his voice was carrying a grim premonition,

‘’Well we –‘’

He raised his hand and told Lana to keep quiet, ‘’And I believe you guys have been following the rules. Then why did you guys played ‘Blind Rage’ which was Loud Howls chosen dong?’’

It took me a moment to process those words and when the meaning was finally clear, I felt a heavy weight drop in my gut and it twisted in dread and horror. Melissa and the others…they chose this song?

We were supposed to inform Mr. Flynn about our choices by any means to avoid any confusion. And I did sent an email to him in the very first week about our choice. Why didn’t he tell us before that they had chosen the same song? Or it was the other way around…

‘’But I sent you an email, you never mentioned that we had same choices.’’ I said,

He took out his phone form his pocket, punched a few buttons and showed me. I stepped nearer and took the device from him.
