The day eventually came…

‘’Why is there a crowd?’’ I asked Stella who looked as shock as myself. We four stood just close to the back stage, waiting for our turn. I had been taken by a complete surprise when Mr. Flynn asked us to stand here and we heard a roar of crowd outside.

‘’Isn’t it obvious dorks, we’ve got audience.’’ Lana looked better than both of us, happy almost like she wanted this to happen. Truth to be told it was a good thing but it was too sudden as well. I had played in crowds before but this time it was a competition.

‘’You look too excited.’’ I complained, she spared me a glance,

‘’Your face looks too purple.’’

‘’Ha ha, it wasn’t funny.’’ She just smirked in response much to my frustration.

There wasn’t anyone else here beside us, much to my dismay. I had wanted to see Oliver so much; my anticipation had been driving me crazy. I wanted to ask Mr. Flynn but as soon as he brought us here he vanished somewhere else leaving me confused and dazed.

‘’Quinn, don’t tell me you’re still looking for that guy. Just stop being a fan girl and pay attention.’’ Rhodes voice snapped me out of my daze; I made a grumpy look on my face and turned away from him.

‘’You don’t need to highlight things and its not like we are playing yet.’’

Lana snorted at my response. I wished that Rhodes knew how I was feeling right now. SO many thing were jumbled up in my mind, wreaking havoc of my senses and leaving me restless.

‘’Guys don’t worry about the crowd-‘’ Stella said after she seemed to have come out of surprise,

‘’Tell that to Violet.’’

She ignored Lana and continued, ‘’ We have to do our best, for Lars as well. We can’t disappoint him. Remember that if something bad happens – lets wish it doesn’t – Lars might blame himself.’’ I nodded sincerely and so did the others. It still surprised me when Stella showed such consideration for any of us or the band. But it still made me feel happy.

‘’Hey you guys are up!’’ A girl poked her head in the room and told us.

We all gave each other silent looks and went on ahead. The crowd looked more terrifying up close. It wasn’t too large but it wasn’t too small either. Last time when we performed the seats were all empty except the judges and a few scattered bands here and there. Today those seats were completely filled, judges in their place already giving us scrutinizing looks.

I took a deep breath, for once forgetting about Oliver and everything else. It was just like last time. The music and me…

We played pretty well, Blind Rage sounded well in my own voice. I was ultimately appreciating our work. It felt electric to hear the cheering of the crowd, people hooting for you, screaming your name and giving you all their best. My spirits were lifted immensely and I felt happy from the bottom of my heart.
