I hated walking with him. There was always silence, and whenever i tried to talk he'd just ignore me. Why did he hate me so much? was I really that annoying? Why did we even come to the mall in the first place?

I'm bored.

Just as I was going to sit down, I felt a strong grip on my arm holding me back. Whipping my head around to that cold guy, I let out an irritated "What?" then slipped away expecting him to say something smart, and was surprised when he stood there barley lifting finger.

Not like last time anyways.

"What do you want from here?"

Confused by the question, i began to look at my surroundings. There was a gift shop right by us. Usually the only things there, were knick knacks and couple items, which is why it felt weird that he suggested something so random.

Kris worked delicate finger through his dyed hair, shortly after parting his lips."Look, you want us to get along."

Weird transition. But it wasn't wrong, so I nodded.

"You want mom and dad to think we're getting along." Ah, now I get it. I watched Yifan reach over to scratch is back before continuing. "Pick something out. I'll buy it for you, then I'll get something for myself too. That way it'll seem like we're bonding."

I took a moment processing what he had said, then timidly walked into the shop. It's my first time being in a place so big, let alone choosing anything for myself.

The thought of it was kind of nice, having someone give to you instead of waiting an eternity hoping to get it yourself. In the orphanage, the children never got gifts.

Pia walked into the store happily browsing through the many compartments, one full of phone cases, and another with jewels. It was taking her way too long. She kept bumping into things and knocking them over. It was a little cu- humorous, seeing her constantly being a klutz. Yeah that was the word. And it didn't help that the store owner was getting somewhat agitated. Maybe i shouldn't have left her alone. Who bore such a clumsy child.

I called Pia's name entering the store,  managing to catch one of the falling items back into place. By the time I went to check on Pia, she was already preoccupied with another item. Hasn't she ever been shopping before? Or better yet, outdoors.

I was just about to apologize for the mess, when Pia bum rushed me, holding a small little clip in her hands.Whatever was behind me kept sticking me in the back, as she moved in closer. "This one!"

That's it? "There's plenty of other things here, Pia." I said, taking the clip from her fingers.

"I understand that, but I want this though. Buy it please?"

Taking another look at the clip, I found myself questioning just why she would want something so, dull. Examining the slight variations of blue and purple, that went analogously with the small white dots scattered around, now discovering they were actually stars instead, was when I realized. It looked just like the galaxy. The clip was quite eye catching, come to think of it."Hurry and buy it!" Pia threw her arms out, shoving me up to the front desk where the cashier was standing. Trying to clench onto the damned thing, it held up stiffly in my fingers, while i fumbled onto the ground in front of him.
He first scanned the squealing girl beside me probably fed up, then flashed his eyes to the pin.

"This?"

"You ask that like its a quest-

A heavy boot slamming down onto my foot, cut me off. No doubt it was Pia. I fought back the pain instead answering with a "Yup." Then dropped it on the table.

The cashier scrunched up his lips bitterly. I would smile, but...reasons led me not to.

"Just take it."

He didn't even bother to ring up the item, but I decided to slip in a couple of bucks anyways. We left the store planning on heading back home, soon realizing that I never bought anything for myself. Oh well, at least one of us is happy...i think. Well, it was hard to tell. Every now and then, Pia would start to complain.

Stopping to see just what she was going on about I saw her fussing with the clip I'd just spent money on. Her hands found it a bit difficult, fixing it in that big hair of hers.

Can't feed herself, can't pay attention, can't shut up, and can't even dress herself. Useless."Let me help you..."

It took a couple of tries, but eventually the clip fit at the side of her hair. "How does it look?"

Pia

Yifan lowered his gaze to the side a bit before taking a few steps backwards. He looked unimpressed, something that wasn't necessarily new to me from him, then lifted his head back up so that now we were both at eye level. He kinda just stood there.

"Hello?"

Let me guess, it 'wasn't his style' I shrugged to myself, before walking out of the door. How upsetting. And I thought it looked good too.

"We're home!" Mr. And Mrs. Wu exclaimed at the same time, now dressed up in semi formal attire. A date no less. Guess they had some time in their hands after all.

"Ah, where's Kris?"

"Right here." I answer, patting on to the boy's lap on the couch beside me. He just shot me a look that shouted 'Don't touch me', but it didn't bother me. Yifan lowered his arms back down, then turned back to the television. Ah that cold guy.

"Where'd you get that clip from?" Mr. Wu asked, upon entering the living. He himself looked a little shocked that his son was even in the same room as me.

"Oh, this? From big brother of course."

The look on his face was almost priceless. "He, did that?"

"Uh, huh." I smiled touching the side of my head. "It's pretty right?"

Kris

I jumped up at the feeling of Pia's hand on my lap, staring at that clip of hers. Despite being completely annoying, and idiotic, it actually made her look...pretty. The peice complimented those discolored freckles on her face, and made her green eyes stand out more. When we were still at the mall, she asked me how it looked. But, I was speechless. Pia always talked too much, I never noticed how attractive she could be in that short time of silence patiently waiting for the answer that  never came.

If only she was like that more often. What am I saying, this dummy? No way. I reached for the remote, however feeling something completely different. What is this?

I squeezed it a bit, trying to find the buttons, then felt a slight twitch, as it moved away. Remotes don't do that. When I turned around, I saw Pia holding her hand with the other, watching me in horror "Aww, so cute~" my mom cooed, before walking out of the living room. Only now, had it just occurred to me what it was that I grabbed.

"I thought you were the remote!"

My cheeks burned. I decided to leave to wash my face, then started looking into the mirror. This girl...
