Protecting Her

Chapter Twenty-Three

Dennis and Joan tell us every move they make, we write it all down and try to map it out as well.
"We're going in" Dennis says after getting back to where they started
"Wait, dont. Just, come back. I'm going to get Sarah to tell us inside information, we can't risk you two" I say, Steve looks at me
"You sure bro?" He asks, I nod
"Come back guys" I mind link our betas
"Alright" Joan says
"We have enough information here, Sarah can tell us about the inside because trust me she'll want in on the attack" I say, Steve nods
"Alright true, when would we attack then?" He asks, I shrug
"First I'll mind link Sarah, see if she can tell us anything about the security in there" I say
"Alright, well then I'm going to go find my mate while you try to connect with yours" He says leaving the room, I smile shaking my head at the sight of him tied down, finally! I look down at what we drew and jotted down, Dennis and Joan lifted up the illusion coat and went all the way around trying to see how big the area is, they said its as big as this pack house territory so we now have an idea of what we're dealing with.

"Sarah, can you talk?" I mind link her
"Not for long, whats wrong?" She asks, I smile at the sound of her voice
"My mom told me some fairies can dreamscape, are you one of them?" I ask
"Yea, I can manipulate dreams. John, my father, had me try that yesterday..why?" She asks
"I need you to come into my dreams tonight, manipulate it to show me the place you are in and how many people John has in there. We know where you are but we need your help from in there to know how many we're dealing with" I say
"That's going to be hard Mas, but I'll try, I promise now I have to go" She says
"I love you Sarah, I'll see you soon baby" I say
"I love you too Mason" She says, I smile at the sound of those words.

"Dreamscape?" Drew asks, I nod
"That can be dangerous can't it?" Dad asks looking at Mom
"If the fairy doing it has experience it shouldn't be, so in this case, yes" She says, I sigh
"We need a picture of how it is in there, we can't go in blind. I would do what Star and Shawn did all those years ago but our wolves cant do that because of her fairy side" I say to my parents
"Alright, but we will be in the room incase anything goes wrong we can try to do something that'll bring you out of there quickly" Mom says, I nod
"How will you do that though?" Drew asks
"The goddesses can lend a hand" She says shrugging
"Mason, are you sure you want to risk yourself like this?" Steve asks
"Yes, plus I have trust in Sarah. I believe in her to not fuck up, I'll be fine" I say they all nod no longer questioning my idea seeing I have trust in my mate

I look out the window at the colorful sky the sunset is making, I lay down on my bed sighing
"We'll be right here" Mom says holding my hand, I smile nodding
"No matter what happens out here, don't pull me out unless I'm in pain. Okay?" I say, she looks at my Dad, he nods
"Alright son" He says, I nod then close my eyes. I hear them talking to each other about if they should let me do this then their voices slowly go silent.

"Mas" I open my eyes to see Sarah in front of me, my heartbeat escalates and I smile
"Sarah, oh baby" I say going to hug her, she smiles letting my arms go around her curvy frame, I feel her breathe hit my neck giving me chills
"I've missed you so much" I say pulling away enough to kiss her forehead
"I have as well, but we have to make this quick or he'll notice" She says pulling away fully, I nod then our white surroundings change into a big house with a fence around it then people appear walking around
"This is currently happening where I am, I'm in the house on the second floor" Sarah says, I nod as I take mental pictures of this all
"Those are the guards?" I ask pointing to the men by the gate and some walking alongside it on the outside
"Yeah, they switch guards every three hours and you see those crossbows?" She says pointing the ones on a table then I see some people have them in hand as they walk around
"What are they?" I ask
"The arrowheads have wolfsbane so you guys have to be really careful and try avoiding them, the vampires aren't using them just the fairies" She says, I nod then the ground shakes making us both furrow our brows
"Something must be happening around you" She says

Oh fucking hell, they chose to attack now when Mason is dreaming. I grip my sons hand then look up at Derek
"Go, I'll make sure nothing, nobody, gets in here" I say, he nods then runs out to join the fight
"Come on sweetheart, hurry up" I whisper bringing his hand up to my lips kissing it, our packs let out howls of war and some howl for help. Star whimpers as we feel one of our own is injured badly
"We have to go help" Star says
"We can't leave Mason here without protection if one manages to sneak in" I say, she walks in circles knowing I'm right. To confirm my thoughts a hissing sound makes me growl as I turn to face the vampire quickly, getting in a protection stance in front of my son.
"Don't you dare make a move towards my son" I growl at the red eyed beast then it tries to run past me in vampire speed but my Lycan is too quick, I tackle him into a wall cracking it. We fight in the room, I make sure it doesn't get near Mason by trying to take the fighting to the hallway. I manage to get on its shoulders then I turn his neck ripping it off his body letting it fall on the floor. I try to calm my breathing then I look over at Mason seeing him start waking up, he sits up rubbing his eyes with a small smile on his lips then he looks around and his eyes widen the smile slowly disappears
"What happened?" He asks, I lean against the door frame then let out a long sigh
"We got attacked" I say

A/N: I know I usually update on Thursdays but well I have been working on an essay for my English class that's due on Tuesday so I havent had the time to update until now!
