  The next day, the young master awoke to find his fever broken and the majority of his strength returned. His butler dressed him and prepared him for the day to come, the day they should tell Undertaker of his discovery and possibly solve the case. There was a certain tension in the air neither of them could name, one as silent as a buzzing fly.

"Young master?" Sebastian asked as his fingers worked to lace his shoes.

"Yes?" Ciel answered, looking down at his butler.

"Are you sure you're well enough to go out and work on the case?"

He hesitated a moment before answering. "Yes."

"It's simply that," Sebastian began. "Last night, you weren't in the best condition."

"I know..." he replied, almost whispering.

"Young master?" Sebastian asked softly, looking up to see his head hanging low. "Are you sure you're alright?"

"I've already told you, yes," he turned away from his butler, but not quick enough to hide the single tear that had rolled down his cheek. "Your continuous questioning is bothersome. I want to work on the case today, regardless."

Sebastian bowed slightly, turning to exit the room. "Of course, my young lord..."
