It's Hammer Time.
Omar lead us down a series of winding, tunnels through the cave. The tips of the stalagmites (or stalactites whichever hangs from the ceiling) were visible, hanging from a dark haze. The ceiling was probably hundreds of feet above us. I noticed a slope to our left slanting upwards. I pointed, 'Is that the main entrance from the Obsidian Woods?'
'Yes,' Natalie said shortly. 'So there are a total of 5 entrances around the globe?' I asked them both.
'Mhm,' Omar said. 'Two in Seattle, one in Mexico, one in California, and another one also in Washington, but in Tacoma, not Seattle.'
'So I guess I'm pretty lucky that I'm a citizen of Washington.' I said happily.
We stopped at our first destination, 'There he is, Jacob Nimbus am I right?' A middle-aged woman walked over to us from behind a corner. She wore a green and pink flowery shirt with blue jeans and laced sandals. Her black hair was in a braid flowing down her right shoulder.
'Oh, nice to see you again Natalie, Omar.' She said gesturing towards them.
'You too.' They said in unison.
Omar looked eager to tell me something but the new woman spoke out before he could, 'So Jacob, I wanted to welcome you to the cave.' She said meeting me with a warm smile. 'I'm the cave elder, Amara.'
'Nice to meet you,' I said, returning her smile.
'So you two will be showing Jacob around the cave?'
'Yeah, Jacob is really excited about all this.' Omar replied.
Natalie said, 'We were just about to show him The Cavern.'
'Ah, yes the tour.' Amara said. 'Well I guess I'll let you three get back to doing your thing. I have to go sort out an issue between the earth and water elementees. They will not stop fighting about those chinton berries!'
'Thanks,' I told her, have a nice day!'. She walked off.
'So uh, is she the like, the owner of the cave?' I asked Natalie and Omar.
I was puzzled because they looked panic-stricken, I heard a crack from above and glanced upwards. One of the rocky icicles on the ceiling fell down and nearly impaled my right big toe along with one of my wheelchair's wheels. 'Shhh!' They scolded me.
Natalie said quickly, 'The cave has no owner, its magic runs freely throughout the world. And it doesn't take insults lightly.'
'Well, what are you waiting for,' Omar shouted, 'Apologize!
I rolled around the impaled fragment of stone in the ground, it had gone about a foot and a half into the cracked earth. I looked up at where it had fallen down from, and let out a low whistle 'You're darn right it doesn't take insults lightly! And umm, I'm sorry cave?'
Just as suddenly as the stalactite had fallen down it shot straight back to where it had been, and the hole instantly mended itself. 'That's cool.' I said with a wide grin.
'Wait what's an elementee?' I asked them.
Omar said, 'It's kind of like the word trainee, but it's the word we elementees use to describe ourselves.'
'OK, that makes sense.'
'So, The Cavern,' Natalie started, 'The Cavern is the main area of the Cave. It's kind of like the principal's office of a school. Except a lot cooler, there are loads of magical instruments there. And it's also where you'd find Amara during a normal day. If you have an issue or a question you could either ask The Element Guard members, like me and Omar, or her.'
