"Hey there buddy no worries mom is going to be home any minute now she just went to visit your Aunt Rosy remember she just gave birth to your new cousin Allie." my dad said when he saw me awake at midnight standing in his door way.
" I'm not scared." I say even though the thunder is really loud and my best friend Josh told me that thunder and lightning means that God is angry and smighting all the naughty people. I didn't believe him but his older brother said that it was true Josh's brother Joey is 15 so he would know more than us 7 year olds.
I scurry over to his bed even though I'm not scared and he puts me in the bed with him.
" It's okay bud I got you just go to sleep and I won't let anyone hurt you."
I yawn and snuggle up next to him.
" Dad, mom is a good person right? God won't smight her with lightning will he?" I say to make sure she will be okay before I went to bed.
" Of course Jacob. God does not smight people and if he did it wouldn't be your mom she is too good a person." dad replies.
And I believed him. Too bad it was the one time I shouldn't have.
