Splashing Around

THEA'S POV

The boys had now been with me and Steve for around two months and summer was finally here!

Steve was away today doing some hero work over in Canada so the boys and I had the house to ourselves but thanks to the hot sunny weather we were able to get the pool out!

"THEA WATCH THIS!" Tony shouted as he jumped in the pool.

I couldn't help but laugh at him; It was really weird to think that four months ago this little four year old was iron man. Fury still hadn't found a cure for this mess so it was a waiting game but Steve and I weren't complaining, Tony and Loki were amazing (most of the time)!

"Te-a!" Loki mumbled with his binky in his mouth.

I was lying on the sunbed with Loki on my lap, he had his little armbands on and he was adorable. They both love playing in the water and splashing around!

"Hey when Steve come's back shall we have a campfire?" I asked.

Tony gasped and jumped around in the pool. "YEAH!" He cheered. "Can we have marsh mellows?"

I hummed playfully. "I think we can!" I told him.

I sat up so Loki was sat in between my legs, his little hands played with my hair as he watched Tony splash around in the water with some of their toys.

"Thea?" I heard a deep voice call.

I frowned... Was that Thor?

"Thor?" I called back.

Thor walked through the back gate and smiled at me and Loki then he smiled a Tony; Thor was actually dressed in a t-shirt and shorts... Normal?

"You okay?" I asked him with a smile.

He nodded. "I am thank you Thea, Steve has asked me to check on you and the boys," He told me.

"That's so sweet of him," I stated. "Thank you Thor, would you like to stay for a little while?"

I knew Thor had only seen Loki a handful of times and he was desperate to try and get Loki to like him!

"I would like that, thank you Thea!" He told me.

Thor sat on the sunbed next to me as I pulled out a can of coke from the ice bucket. Loki continued to play with my hair, his little green eyes were still on Tony.

"Do they get along?" Thor asked. "Any fighting?"

I shook my head. "No not really, they sometimes argue over toys but no," I told him as I ran my finger through Loki's hair.

Thor nodded. "I remember when Loki was young, we was so kind and thoughtful," He told me making me smile.

"Boys why don't you play in the water with Thor?" I suggested.

Thor looked a little taken back. "Okay!" Tony spoke up. "Come on Barbie!"

I shook my head as Thor went and sat next to the pool, Tony handed him a boat and an airplane. I carried Loki and placed him in the water next to Tony and handed him some little ducks to play with; I was hoping Loki would play with Thor...

I got my phone out and took a couple of photos of the three of them; I had so many photos of the boys it was unreal, I couldn't wait to show them to Tony and Loki when they got bigger again!

"Thea when's Steve coming home?" Tony asked.

I shrugged. "Not sure sweetie," I told him.

Tony sighed; As much as Adult Tony used to argue with Steve, this little Tony loves the bones of Steve!

"Like dis!" Loki said and showed Thor what to do with the boat.

Thor smiled at his little brother and sat a little duck on the boat. Loki and Tony giggled and started to play pirates with Thor... It's working!

*SPLASH*

Tony threw a load of water over Thor... The boys were in fits of laughter and I couldn't help but giggle. Thor was drenched!

"I am so sorry," I said through little giggles.

Thor chuckled and splashed the boys back making them scream and giggle.

"Thea come play!" Tony told me.

I shook my head. "No thank you," I told. "I like being dry!"

I watched as Thor continued to play with the boys; I spent the whole afternoon watching the boys, making them drinks and even playing in the water with them. Loki seemed really happy playing with Thor, maybe Loki was warming up to Thor?

Thor left when the sun started to go down. I had to drag the boys out of the pool and into the shower so I could get them cleaned up and dressed for bed, once they were in their little pjs we went into the kitchen and made some little snacks.

"I'M BACK!" I heard Steve say.

The boys ran to the door. "STEVE!" They shouted.

I followed the boys to the front door, I looked at Steve and I gasped... He had a bruise on his eye and on his jaw. Steve looked at me with sad eyes as he stopped hugging the boys.

"Get in the kitchen!" I ordered him.

Steve sighed and went into the kitchen, the boys followed behind us. Steve sat on a kitchen chair, I grabbed a clean cloth and ran it under the cold tap, I then dabbed it on Steve's bruises.

"You said you'd be careful!" I reminded him.

He grabbed my wrist. "Thea you know better than anyone that I can't always keep that promise!" He told me.

I hugged him tightly and kissed the top of his head. "I just worry," I whispered softly.

It was hard when we didn't go on missions together; We couldn't watch each others backs, protect each other.... NOTHING!

Steve kissed my jaw. "I love you!" He told me.

"We love you too!" Tony said as he and Loki ran over to us.
