Chapter 6 ♥ Pretty Eyes

Start from the beginning

"That girl was weak Hanni," I knew that he got to me when I used his nickname

"No , that girl was beautiful inside out, still is... you were just scarred, you needed someone to help heal you, to take care of you." Oh

"And you were that someone?"

"I still am... why can't we pick up where we left off?" he removed his hand from my face, and tilted his head sideways staring at me.

"Because I like where I'm at right now, I'm happy, my family is good... I don't need you anymore." most of that was the truth

"You happy?" he said it with a smile but its fake "Who's makin you smile?" I smiled at him

"Money is making me smile...I came from nothing and now I got it,you know that better than anybody. Why wouldn't I be happy?"

He grabbed my left arm and pulled it onto the table so that my wrist was facing up.

When he did it I swear I stopped breathing. I thought he would pull my sleeve up but he didn't , he just carressed my wrist with his thumb.

"Big shot huh? You runnin shit?" he looked at me sideways but he never stopped moving his hand

"I could ask you the same... you didn't go to Jamaica to just spend quality time with your dad" I narrowly stared at him

"You right. But you see the difference between us is I can admit that the money is nothing compared to knowing you got somebody that loves you unconditionally and that's down for you... Why can't you admit that?" he's always had a way with words, should've been a lawyer or something

"Because the one that I was down for, the one that I loved unconditional... He decided that it wasn't enough, he left me for some fucking money."

"I came back." My phone started going off indicating that I have text messages

"Yea, I see that" I reached for my phone, but he got it before I did

"What's yo code?"

"5543" I leaned back in my chair and smirked at him. He raised an eyebrow at me in question

"I don't have shit to hide, if you wanna look for shit, don't be mad when you find something"

"You right. Yo business is your business, that's gone all come to a stop real soon though " He put my code in and handed me my phone

I started checking my texts, which were just from a some niggas saying good morning, have a good day, I love you and shit like that, nothing important.

"I see you busy , so why don't you come through tonight... you can uh, tell me how you've changed." I looked up from my phone, I'm not even gonna front and say I'm not disappointed that he's leaving

"I can't, I have school tomorrow"

"So, I always got you to school on time."

He got up and walked over to my side of the table. He leaned down and grabbed my face between his hands.

I felt his minty breath fan over my face as I closed my eyes and waited for his lips to meet mine. When they didn't, I opened my eyes to see him staring at me intensely.

"I'm not kissing you until you beg for it" he ran his thumb across my bottom lip before he stood back up straight.

"I'll text you the address," and then he was gone.

~Flashback~

I woke up to him talking on the phone in the other room.
