"Bah! I can't find it!" I groaned as I dug through the cardboard box.

"Mooom! Have you seen my moon necklace?" I yelled out my bedroom door to my mom down stairs.

"It should be in the box labeled 'accessories' Eve!" she hollered back at me.

"Oh.. Duh" I murmured to myself. Why didn't I think to look there. Ugh, my mind is always in a heaped mess when I'm stressed out! I quickly walked over to the box and rummaged through it.

"Ah, there you are! Always trying to hide from me aren't you" I muttered to myself holding up the silver crescent moon dangling from the chain. It's sapphire gem shimmered in the center. My prized possession. My dad had given it to me when I was just a young girl. I hardly remember him, it was so long ago...

"Whatever.." I whispered to myself, placing the necklace around my neck. I strolled over to my mirror.

"Hey, not bad... Could be worse though." I looked myself over. My platinum blonde hair fell past my shoulder blades. My pale complexion and pale hair made my crystal blues eyes shine like a star. I wore faded blue jeans with a white sweater that had a lace trim.

"It's going to be my first day at this new high school. Gotta show them I'm a someone, that I won't blend in with the crowd." I proclaimed to myself in the mirror. Great pep-talk me. That'll sure keep me from totally passing out from anxiety and worry. Wow, now I'm talking to myself; I am truly going bonkers.

I snatched my backpack from my bed and left my bedroom. I hopped down the stairs and slide into the kitchen.

"Hey can you give me a ride to school?" I asked my mom with big puppy dog eyes. She smiled and shook her head.

"Yeah of course sweetie, but you don't have to give me those eyes. You know I'll drive my little Evie to school, and especially for her first day of school!" she said with a grin. I rolled my eyes, she knows I don't like that nickname, it makes me feel like a child.

"Thanks mom. You ready?" she gave me a quick nod and she lead the way to the front door.
