"Baby, I'm sad."

In the place Calum surprised Michael with an unexpected visit is the place they found themselves again on their last day together. The green eyed boy wad frowning, while the brunette tried to do everything he had in his possession to make his boyfriend smile again. Everything and anything to assure him that it'd be okay, that he'd come back for another visit quicker than he could say the word supercalifragileisticexpialidocious.

"Please don't be sad."

"I can't help it," Michael muttered, feet dangling from the tree they were sitting on, Calum's head resting upon the pale one's shoulder, their lips molding together for the fiftieth time that day. They just couldn't get enough of one another. "I don't want you to leave. It's been way too long for you to just get up and leave again."

"I-I know," Calum said shakily, knowing that now was more of a time than ever to confess the truth to Michael that he wasn't leaving because he couldn't, and that he'd happily or not-so-happily be stuck here, with his boyfriend, for however long he wanted until he found another career he wanted to pursue in, "I want to stay, believe me."

"Then why don't you?" Michael quirked, looking into Calum's mesmerizing eyes of gold, the pairing holding so much beauty that it reminded him of the solar system. One of his absolute favorite things in the world, possibly second, since Calum is the first.

"I-I-"

Calum sadly looked down at his hands, the gesture making Michael automatically result to cheering him up. It was just their thing.

"You don't have to tell me what's on your mind if you don't want to," Michael mumbled, placing his hand on Calum's arm, bumping into him just enough to make the brunette smile

"It's just something that's not really easy to say, and I'm afraid of what you'll think of me."

"Hey," Michael whispered, intertwining his fingers with Calum's just before brushing a strand of his hair off of his forehead, "I won't think anything bad of you, ever. You're my baby, my puppy, my everything, the reason I'm living in this fucked up world, and I'll listen to whatever you have to say, Cally. Any time, any place, any day."

"Okay," Calum said with a shaky breath following after, and he didn't miss the way Michael looked at him so fondly.

"I-I, dammit Michael, stop looking at me like that!"

"I can't help it, you're just so adorable."

"Okay," Calum tried brushing off the fact that Michael made his cheeks flushed, "I was uh - how do I say this? I made too many personal calls with you, which isn't allowed in the military, and uh - doing so could get you kicked out and have your contract wrenched and uh that sort of happened?"

"What are you saying?"

"I was kicked out."

"So that means?"

"I can't go back, so I'm stuck here, with you, and while I'm sad that I can't continue my service with helping out the world, I'm glad I'm here with you. I wouldn't change these moments for anything, kitten."

"So this really isn't our last day together?"

"No, no it's not."

"Oh come here you," Michael giggled, pulling his Calum closer in such a calming manner, ruffling his hands in the brunettes hair, and neither seemed to mind. They were just comfortable with each others touch.

"My little Calum," Michael chuckled again, just before removing his hand away from the brunettes full head of hair and pointing his fingers in the direction of the carved heart he made, "I need you to finish this for me

"Finish what?"

"The heart. It's not complete without you."

"Am I only half a heart without you?"

"Yes, you're an addition to it. You're the reason my heart is beating, which is why your initial deserves to be carved in next to mine. As a way to remember that I'm yours forever and you're mine forever."

"Forever is a long time, you know?"

"Yeah, but I wouldn't mind spending it with you."
