‘….“What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”— the things God has prepared for those who love him’1 Corinthians 2:9

“Lord, surprise us.”

Have you ever prayed this prayer? Those of us who hate surprises will never utter such prayer. Because our prayers are almost always born out of expectancy, we already know what to anticipate from God.

But God is always full of surprises. Remember the manner through which He saved mankind? He gave His Son. Even the coming of His Son on earth was mind-blowing: the king of all kings born in a lowly manger. And what of the payment for our sin? Is not the cross a far too absurd a substitute for all our offenses?

The Bible declares that no eye has seen, no ear has heard and no mind has conceived THE THINGS THAT GOD PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM. What this tells us is that we haven’t seen yet all the BEST that God has in store for those who obey His will.

If you think, you have seen the best of what your life could contain, most likely you are wrong. Yes, God still has the best for last.

“Lord, surprise us.”
