'Their wristbands come off first sweetheart.' He stepped in front of her, gesturing to Clarke and Finn behind her.

Brinley smirked. 'What happened to whatever the hell we want?'

Bellamy blinked. She hadn't been present for that particular speech so how did she – Wells, he thought in annoyance.

Brinley used his pause to her advantage, skipping away from Murphy and Bellamy, not looking back at the two.

Bellamy watched her go and Murphy laughed.

'What are you laughing at?' Bellamy snapped at his friend.

'She's going to make your life a living hell.' Murphy sniggered.

Another boy, seeing Brinley's act of defiance, made his way to repeat what she had done. Bellamy, upon seeing this promptly punched the boy in the face.

Clarke and Finn both sent Brinley warm, relieved smiles as she approached them, handing them their share of the food.

'That was bad ass.' Finn complimented.

'He doesn't scare me.' Brinley shrugged. 'I won't be pushed around by a self centred jackass with a superiority complex.' She shrugged and Clarke laughed.

'Aren't you friends with Octavia, though? How's that going to work if you hate her brother?' Finn questioned.

'Octavia knows I don't get along with our leader.' Brinley snorted at the title.

'Speaking of Octavia, where is she?' Clarke questioned between bites of the food.

Brinley tossed the stick from the meat on the ground. 'Probably screwing Atom in the bushes.'

Clarke choked and Finn gaped at the bluntness of her statement.

'Atom? Bellamy's friend?'

Brinley snickered. 'That's the one. And guess who get's to play distraction to the protective big brother.' She plastered a fake smile on her face.

This time Finn laughed in amusement. 'Good luck with that.'

'You better hurry, looks like he's on his way out there now.'

Brinley swore, leaving the two laughing behind her.

'Hey! Pretty boy, wait up.'

Bellamy huffed in annoyance at the voice behind him. 'What do you want?'

'Where are you going?' She questioned, falling into step beside him.

'Where does it look like I'm going?' Bellamy scoffed.

'Why are you going out here?'

'Someone has to keep an eye out for the grounders don't they.'

'What, you're going to keep watch by yourself?'

Bellamy rolled his eyes. 'No, Atom is coming with me.'

Brinley almost choked. Fuck.

'How about you give Atom the night off, he did look after Octavia all day. I'll keep you company instead.' Brinley covered up her nervousness with a wicked grin as she latched herself onto his arm. He shook her off quickly.

'No thanks. I'd rather face the grounders alone.' He kept walking, leaving Brinley no other choice other than to follow him.

'You know, I'm pretty sure I saw him over that way earlier.' Brinley pointed in the opposite direction Octavia had headed. Bellamy frowned, he'd been told the exact opposite of the direction she was pointing to.
