CHAPTER 8

Everyone was silently sitting in Zayaan's office .MAnum was the only one recovering from the shock ,everybody else was quiet normal because they were use to it.

"How is Hadeed"?? Manum looked at Zayaan

"He is in the hospital,he is recovering. Bullet didn't do any major damage thank God. He is unconscious but ,he is fine". Zayaan replied back softly

Manum was sitting beside Zayaan on the couch tightly clutching his hand as if he would disappear and she was afraid of losing him.

Dada was in deep thought ,rubbing his chin with his hand continuously

"How is Asad"?? Asked Anumta

"He is also in the same hospital Hadeed is. He had some major injuries but he'll be ok" Said Asfandyar thoughtfully

"Something is not right here" Said dada

"We were attacked obviously, nothing is right here" Said Zayaan rubbing circles on Manum's hand

"No..you are not getting my point" Dada stood up from Zayaan's chair and started pacing in the room

"What do you mean"??

"Manum what exactly happened when you were in the lawn " Dada gave Manum a gentle look

Manum looked up at him ,her hand still grabbing Zayaan's hand

"Well..umm.. I went to the lawn Hadeed and Talal were with me ,we were talking when Hadeed started looking at the main gate .It was like he was trying to find something, he told Talal to stay alert. The next thing I know a shot was fired and Hadeed suddenly came in front of me and pushed me behind him ,that's when the bullet hit him and all the fight started". Manum spoke quietly

Zayaan kissed her temple softly trying to comfort her

"Hmmm.. which clearly means that the bullet was meant for Manum and Hadeed came in between. So their actual target was Manum and anybody else who got in the way."

Anger boiled in Zayaan's blood giving his eyes a furious look . His grip tightened on Manum's hand unintentionally making her wince in pain.

Manum flinched and Zayaan loosened his grip looking apologetically at her

"I am sorry". He said grabbing her hand in a light grip

"Its ok" she smiled slightly

"I Am damn sure they were Ali's brother's men " Zayaan said in a hard voice

"Sir they are in interrogation room, Ammar is waiting for you there". Waleed reminded Zayaan

"How many were they" Zayaan asked Waleed

"Ten sir, three of them are captured, rest are dead"

Zayaan nodded quietly

"Manum c'mon you should sleep " Zayaan said getting her upto her feet gently

Manum gave him a worried look

"But you..."

"I have some work to do, Anumta will be with you all the time and Waleed will be outside your room " Zayaan replied politely
